By picking Ryan, Mittens has boxed himself in.

Now he's stuck. Up until now he's been able to avoid explaining any details of whatever his economic plan might be, so he could more or less get away with claiming it would help the economy, create jobs, help the middle class, blah blah blah. Without any specifics he could say anything he wanted.

But now he has Ryan. And Ryan's budget plan has details. Of course, the devil is always in the details, and these details are especially devilish. It will be a whole lot harder for him to argue that what now is necessarily his plan - the economic plan of bug-eyed granny-starver Ryan - will help anybody but the very rich. The Ryan plan is extremely unpopular with everybody but the teabaggers in Congress. He will not be able to sell it in the general election.

of videotape (or its digital equivalent) in which Romney praises the Ryan plan to the skies he might be hard pressed to do that.

I'm sure the DNC, the Obama campaign and the pro-Obama PACs are hard at work crafting ads right now.

When i saw the pick this morning. The first thing i said to my wife was "I think Romney just shot himself in the foot." He really could not have gone any farther right with his pick unless he had gone with rush limbaugh or Ted Nugent. I weas worried he would go towards the center with a female or minority that would pull boarderline Obama supporters over to his side but wow.... Paul Ryan. Unlike Palin in 08', Ryan is not some unknown quantity. We know him, we know what he believes, and we know it is for corporations and profits to rule the United States.

We should not pop the corks yet though. We still live in a country where 45-50% of the people actually believe the reason why they are struggling so much in the middle class is that the rich do not have enough of their money. It is quite frightening......
