2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumA word of appreciation for Bernie Sanders and his supporters.
Sanders has (I believe correctly) identified the most important problem facing our country at this time: reducing wealth inequality. He has proposed very rational policies like public college education funded by a tax on Wall Street speculation and health care for all, he's a champion of getting big money out of politics, he has inspired many to see what is possible in a country of so much great wealth in the hands of so few. He does so with great integrity and focus.
Let's spread that money around, and get it more to the people who work and let's protect those who can't work - not with platitudes or table scraps but with enough so they can live dignified and meaningful lives without the constant worry of how to pay for housing or medical care. We can do it. Thank you to Senator Sanders and his supporters!

(11,833 posts)Uncle Joe. I'd like to see more democratic socialists in the House, the Senate, in all levels of State governments and in the White House.
