...I found it surprising that a former Secretary of State would single out a friendly allied country as some sort of negative example.

She could have made the point without dragging Demmark into it.

All the Danes will be waking up in a few hours and get the headlines "Hillary Clinton Declares US Not To Be Denmark".

I'm sure it will be puzzling and vaguely insulting to them.

While we enrich the capitalists, fight useless wars, kill lots of people, build lots of prisons and insane asylums, and wet ourselves in fear of the rest of the world.

I mean who would want our country to be like Denmark?

The dark blue (largest bit) are indigenous Danes. The smaller slice is immigrants, and the smallest slice is descendants of immigrants. There is a similar graph at the wikipedia page.

One thing Denmark does that I do NOT like is they put down zoo animals and then DISSECT them in front of small CHILDREN.....they say it is "educational." I think this is a bit rough for a young kid.

WARNING--DISTURBING GRAPHIC IMAGES. Do NOT click on this link and think that the images won't be disturbing--they ARE disturbing. Very disturbing.

You have been warned.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/denmark/11934130/Danish-zoo-dissects-lion-in-front-of-children.html

Public dissections are a regular occurrence at Danish zoos, where they are seen as a way of teaching children about nature.
A spokeswoman for the Humane Society International in Europe, Wendy Higgins, accused the zoo of "making a macabre spectacle out of a much deeper tragedy."
The group said it highlighted widespread over-breeding of lions and "thousands of other animals" in zoos.
