The truth hurts!

Yesterday Ann Coulter went ballistic on Hannity about Romney's press spokesperson who publicly referred to the benefits of Romneycare. As you know, Romney as Governor of Massachusetts implemented a Republican healthcare reform idea that ultimately became known as Obamacare: http://healthcarereform.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=004182 .

Now the irony is that the only reason that Obamacare was adopted was that Blue Dog (moderate to conservative) Democrats would not support a singlepayer or public option bill, so the Democratic leadership defaulted to the historical Republican idea in hopes of gaining Blue Dog, as well as Republican votes. The bill passed without Republican support (of course) and after being signed by President Obama, the meme was started by the right that this historically-Republican idea was socialism at its worst. Go figure.

Now the Republican party is getting ready to nominate someone who has the very difficult challenge of explaining this complex history to the electorate in a way that helps him and hurts the President. I understand why Coulter was so upset. The campaign let the cat out of the bag.
