Loving Obama Team's Rapid Response to Welfare Lie

I still have nightmares over John Kerry's slow response to the despicable Swift Boat lies. When such an outrageous lie is directed at you, the temptation is to say the public cannot possibly believe that. In politics, if you say a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. John Kerry, and by extension the Democratic party learnt that the hard way. Fast forward to Romney, adding to the list of seemingly endless stream of lies. This time on Welfare reform. The Obama team have already come out with a clear concise video pointing why the attack is inaccurate(nay a bald-faced lie!) and Romney's hypocrisy on the issue. We learnt well from our mistakes

He's now wimp.He came up through politics In streets of Chicago.Registering voters for 1992 election that helped cahnge Illinois Into
Democratic leaning state.Through State senate,US Senate, and the white House.

Obama wants to get things done and will work with other side but people should never think he won't fight.Ask Hillary and Mccain If
he's a wimp.

Republicans never thought Obama would go after Romney. They believed their own spin on Obama.Obama brought a gun to this
election fight.Romney thought this was a knife fight.

The hope is that the ad will be picked up by the media and get free airtime. Happens all the time.

“Under Obama’s plan, you wouldn’t have to work and wouldn’t have to train for a job,” a Romney ad asserts. “They just send you your welfare check.”

But just hours after the Romney campaign sent out a statement by the former speaker accusing Obama of “undoing the act’s central concept of a welfare-to-work requirement,” Gingrich distanced himself from the language in Romney’s ad.

“I think if the ad makers had asked me I would have said, ‘This makes it possible,’ would have been a good way to enter into what it said,” Gingrich said in an interview on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” Wednesday night.

Gingrich went on: “We have no proof today, but I would say to you under Obama’s ideology it is absolutely true that he would be comfortable sending a lot of people checks for doing nothing.”

Why won't the Obama team put out an ad showing the true faces of those on welfare? Not to embarrass those receiving assistance, but to show the country how this little compassionate act help so many babies who would otherwise go to bed hungry. Welfare needs a paradigm shift. It needs to be snatched from the hands of the racist, political exploiters, and those who want to keep us divided.

I haven't seen this kind of efficiency in the Democratic Party since James Carville ran Clinton's campaign! He NEVER let a charge go unanswered for even one news cycle. Love, love, LOVE the bare-knuckles, especially since it seems to have caught the Rethugs off guard. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in their headquarters, just to hear them whine about how the dems are fighting back, and THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO , DAMMIT!!!

But, the "main-streamers" in the party are still wimps. They still think they need to apologize for not being Republicans, and haven't figured out yet that the right wing hates them simply for being Dems, so it doesn't matter how much they grovel.

And, of course, the big issue is money. Obama will never be able to raise as much money as Rmoney, and you know those bastards will sit on a huge amount of cash to throw out the last week of the campaign, unleashing more outrageous lies than we can even imagine.

We've got to be ready to do more than "talk the talk" on this one folks. It's time for the shoe leather to hit the pavement. I got a call from our local organizer here last night, and I told him I'd be available for whatever they need. For love of country and our children's future, we've ALL got to be ready to put ourselves out there. I'm sure most of us are on the same email lists. Get yourself out there.

OK, I'll get off the soapbox now.

about the American Revolution: to paraphrase...the British had to wear bright red coats and march in a straight line. The Colonists got to hide behind rocks and trees and pick them off. Hopefully the Democrats no longer have to follow the "redcoat" and the Repubs are reeling, it seems.

It seems like the Democrats took forever to realize that the other side will stoop to the sewer to dredge up lie after lie. A constant barrage, hoping that even if they have to recant, they know one or two might just stick with enough of their base. And I agree, with the Kerry campaign it seemed like they just assumed that if the people themselves didn't realize it was all lies, the networks would undoubtedly clear it up for them........uh no. The networks were almost giddy with any new ammunition to create more drama, and so it is always "this side claims this about so and so....we have no opinion because we don't do actual journalism anymore...but if it is true what are so and so's chances now that this bombshell has come out?"

Its a shame in some ways, that the Obama camp must spend half their money on defense and correcting lies, I'm sure that's part of the plan for the GOP, but it must be done, and done swiftly.

The Obama team should have explained the rule more and said less about what NBC and The Washington Post said. Right wingers will just claim that those are left wing media outlets and they are covering for President Obama. They also should have explained what Mitt Romney and other Republicans were asking for in that letter.
