(23,156 posts)Then allegations surfaced of plagiarism, and he withdrew. I recall it, and thought at the time he was seriously and permanently tainted. He had a very low profile for the next twenty years, until he became VP.
And yes, if he tries to mount a serious run, it will be used by the Republicans.

(23,156 posts)The problem is, the plagiarism did happen, and was a very black mark on Biden. It happened long enough ago, that I don't especially care -- although it apparently happened more than once.

(53,900 posts)He was the one who would not let three other women, even though they had traveled to DC and were ready and willing, to testify about Thomas' sexual harassment of them that would have bolstered Anita Hill's testimony of being sexually harassed by him.
If Biden runs that will definitely come out. As a matter of fact, an Anita Hill movie will be coming out soon that probably will rehash that whole sorry episode.
He's been a good, loyal VP but because of that and the plagiarism incident, I don't expect Biden to run.

Actually, near the end, Kornacki was talking about how again, Dowd, was involved in a Biden story ....it sounded like he was trying to insuate something....Dukakis fired 2 aides for getting the video of the Kinnock plagiarism....personally, I think it was fair game...
