Another Politifact "Politifail"!

"Harry Reid says anonymous source told him Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes for 10 years"

Politifact's Ruling: "We find no evidence for Harry Reid's claim that Mitt Romney paid no taxes for 10 years. Pants on Fire."

Except that Politifact: a.) Did not fact-check Reid's actual claim because, as we know, Romney hasn't given any tax returns to fact-check and b.) Did not fact-check Reid's claim that an anonymous source shared this information with him.

The major problem is, of course, that the jury is still out on Romney's tax situation because he's barely released any so far, so Reid's claim (or, more correctly, the claim made by this anonymous source) has NOT been proved OR disproved and thus should not be subject to a "Pants on Fire" ruling IMHO.

In order to 'convict' with "Pants on Fire", don't they need evidence that Reid lied? I'd say they do. And they didn't present a shred of evidence that Reid lied. They didn't refute his account. And they didn't show us the 10 years of Romney's tax returns showing he paid taxes.

Have we become so caught up in what the M.S.M a.k.a 1 % Er's are telling us which story is to be discussed Romney is lien end of story. there is nothing else to be said unless he releases his returns ,We dint have to defend our right to know the truth ! Whatever happen to the fact the Romney didn't leave Bani Capital when he said he did ,and continued to do business after 1999 ,or the fact that Romney is being supported by Billionaires who are under investigation for various crimes whether Reid's accusations are valid or not doesn't matter the M.S.M just want you,Me and everyone to think so Romney is a crook ...........!

5. Hey Politifacts ...

We find no evidence that you are NOT on the romney campaign's payroll ... therefore we rule any and ever claim that you make to the contrary, short of producing the romney campaign and all of the gop-supporting superpacs' checkbook registers, to be Pants On Fire statements.

But then again, I never really looked into the claim.

11. We have two competing claims...

Reid: Romney has paid no taxes at all, according to an anonymous source.
Romney: I paid plenty of taxes, according to my tax returns.

Reid won't reveal his source, and Romney won't reveal his.

I think we're pretty much at a stand-off. So how does Reid get "Pants on Fire" and Romney doesn't.
