New Batch of Clinton E-Mails Comes Due Amid Pile of Lawsuits

Hillary Clinton has met the enemy and it is her.

While the former secretary of state, senator, and first lady has long maintained she and her husband were the targets of a vast right-wing conspiracy intent on politically ruining them, her use of a personal e-mail account to conduct government business handed her critics a potent new weapon to inflict unrelenting torment.

And they have.

In Congressional committee hearings and in court, Clinton’s critics and journalists have pursued State Department records documenting:

* the Democratic presidential candidate’s response to the September 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya;
*aide Huma Abedin’s employment with the government, an outside consulting firm, and the Clinton Foundation;
*potential conflicts of interest that arose from Clinton’s role as a public official and her husband’s leadership of the global foundation currying favor—and money—from some of the same foreign leaders with whom she dealt; and
*in one request, correspondence between her and/or Abedin with Naglaa Mahmoud, wife of deposed Egyptian leader Mohamed Mursi.

In fact, State Department lawyers this month told a Washington federal court they’re facing at least 30 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits from individuals and groups demanding agency records from Clinton’s tenure there, some of which predate the March revelation of Clinton's private server.

4. Bernie supporters have the benefit of using

the repubs to do their dirty work attacking Hillary with bogus scandals and in doing so
they are carrying water for the repubs. The purpose of the repubs attacking Hillary during the primary season is to lower her poll numbers which fits into her opponent's strategy both now and in the general. There is no honor in any of this.

The man set to take the job as the top Republican in the House just made a crucial admission about the true nature of the wild goose-chase known as the House Select Committee on Benghazi — its aim is to take down Hillary Clinton.



While the revelation may come as no surprise, its source should. Outgoing House Speaker John Boehner recently warned his party of “false prophets” and after Fox News’ Sean Hannity worried he’d been wrongly labeled as such, he somehow elicited a confession from Boehner’s would-be successor that is heresy to right-wing orthodoxy on Benghazi.

“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?” House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy offered as “one example” of a Republican win in Congress. “But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today?” the California Republican asked. “Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she’s untrustable.”

To talk about emails.
Even if nothing nefarious is found in any "batch" (and nothing has so far), the "batch" release will be made into breaking news.
It's the "drip, drip" nothing-burger that Clinton described.
