From this day forward I will describe mittens in one way and one way only.

Stupid!

I was starting to believe it with the tax and bain fiascos.

When a man who has been running non-stop for president for almost a decade has NO CLUE that it's a common practice to release many years of tax returns, he's a moron. When a man runs for president based on his business experience and he has NO IDEA that his business practices will be looked at by his opponents, he'd an idiot. When you run based upon your "success" as the head of an Olympics and you belittle the work of other Olympic organizers, you're a dipshit. This idiocy is only compounded by the fact that President Obama and Ted Kennedy were good friends. The fact that romney seems STUNNED that the President is using some of the same tactics that Ted Kennedy used to defeat romney very handily in 1994 is only another sign of the level of severe empty headedness.

romney is too damn STOOOPID to know that when you're a guest in someone else's home (or country) you don't insult your hosts. If you're enough of a turdbrain to insult your hosts and they slap you down, you DON'T compound the situation by having your flunkies double down on the insults.

mitt romney is STUPID! He is an out of touch with reality reality tv version of Richie Rich, a moron who has had a lifetime of well paid yes men telling him that he's a genius and covering up his f*** ups. Does that sound like anyone we know?

12 years ago, the Supreme court installed a moron in the white house. We learned a painful 8 year lesson that morons don't make good presidents. They don't even make mildly bad presidents. They make HORRIBLE presidents.

I'm 57 years old. I thought that I'd never see a candidate as stupid as george w turdbrain again. I SURE AS HELL didn't think I'd see one that was even more stupid!

I will, of course keep bringing the other issues up, but my main focus from here on out is simple.

mitt romney is STUPID!

That's my 2 cents, and quite possibly overpriced at that!

PEACE!

Even the Obama campaign considers Romney to be smart, but smart like a street punk who never gets caught.

He doesn't even bother to get stuff right because he figures he doesn't have to. His base doesn't care, and Fox
doesn't care, so why should he care? And he's not wrong. He expends his energy elsewhere. Don't confuse that with stupid, but don't expect better of him if elected, either.

Not so much deliberately chosen stupidity as the arrogance that he is above any and all criticism and repercussions of his statements. He is proclaiming himself the next teflon president without even having been elected.

Your comment made me laugh. Mitt Romney is the proof that you don't necessarily need to be smart to succeed in business. Sometimes ruthlessness is all one needs.

12. True enough, but that's another manifestation of the CEO mindset.
Sat Jul 28, 2012, 03:47 PM

He actually may be smart, at least in some respects. Street smart as in WALL Street smart. But I've known people like that, some of my friends had fathers like that and there were people in my industry (when I was still working) like that. And as smart as they are in that regard, they are hopeless in others - like, especially, character issues. Character pertaining to how they treat the people whom they supposedly love, and certainly how they treat people in general. Are they basically predatory or aren't they? Is the hunt the most important thing of all? Are they altruistic in nature, and more into sharing than dominating? Or not?

The dominance thing, the alpha male thing, is what the CEO mindset is. Business is in business to do one thing: make a profit. That's all he knows. In "Bonfire of the Vanities" Tom Wolfe talked about the guys at the top of the various financial zigurrats. They were masters of the universe. When you're on top of the zigurrat, that thereby means that everyone else you're involved with is below you. You outrank everyone as far as your corporate eye can see. That's the CEO thing. You're up, in a class by yourself in the rarefied air, answerable to no one. They in the great underneath all bow and scrape and say only "yes" to you. No one dares challenge, argue, rebel. In the world of the CEO, that's called insubordination, and violating the chain of command of which the CEO is king, and it's easily dealt with. You simply enjoy firing the people who serve you, as some wannabe president has said!

So THIS is the universe romney's used to, and comfortable with, and experienced in (as I dare end a sentence with a preposition...). This is the world in which he's come of age and scored his successes and made himself lavishly comfortable for life. It's all he knows. And he will by nature and necessity bring that mindset into the Oval Office if, I dread the very thought, he actually wins in November. He's the vulture and the predator and the pirate, fattening his belly on the carcasses of others. And it's somehow his entitlement. After all, didn't Her Ladyship ann of dressage point out that "it's our turn." Again, that's all he knows. That's how it's always been for him and he's used to it, which makes him maybe just a little too comfy. You get used to looking down on other people when you're up that high in rank.

What that means in this instance here is - I don't think he realizes that, out in THIS world, not his cushy sultan's universe that is all he knows, there ARE things he doesn't realize. Simply because the game is played differently here and if he's gonna get to the top of THIS zigurrat he's gonna have to earn every step the hard way. He was born to it and moved into it in the private sector, and he's had so many "yes" men and "yes" women around him that he evidently thinks his word is holy writ. After all, as CEO it certainly can't be challenged, since it's all powerful.

I don't think he knows he can't just decree and dictate. He HAS to start considering other viewpoints beyond his kingly CEO pronouncements. Hey mitt, this isn't your brand of Kansas anymore. This is wholly different. You HAVE to listen to your advisors and do what they tell you, not so much always that YOU tell THEM. And you have to pick DECENT advisors who'll steer you with wisdom and not encourage you in the wrong directions. Unfortunately he's got a bunch of dubya PNAC retreads as foreign policy advisors. But he probably genuinely didn't think he needed any help. He's the CEO. Nobody tells him what to do and this is a no-brainer, 'eh? He's got this. Well, guess what? Welcome to the deep end of the pool, mitty-boy. And you not only can't swim well, you didn't think you were even gonna need those water wings, didja?

"dressage queen" has a very specific, and negative, meaning in the horse world, including among everyday dressage riders. And Ann Rmoney appears to be the personification of a dressage queen.

I've been working in political campaigns since stuffing envelopes for Bobby Kennedy when I was 12. Obviously republican policies are stupid. People like nixon & cheney aren't stupid, they're just plain evil. People like dole & mcsame weren't stupid, they were just pricks.

On the contrary, I think Romney is a brilliant man...

Consider this.
? He has a documented record of supporting liberal issues (same sex rights, abortion, minimum wages, etc).
? His political position in the MA 1994 senatorial election can be clearly construed as, at the very least, a moderate liberal (despite him running as a Rep).
? He has a documented record of doing a 180 degree turn on almost every single major issue (same sex rights, abortion, minimum wages, etc).
? He ran a successful venture capital fund that makes most of its money from breaking up companies and reselling them.
? He has no Washington political network to speak of

And yet, he triumphed over the entire GOP field to emerge as the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party. He defeated the conservative favorite Santorum, tea party favorite Bachmann, lobbyists favorite Gingrich, libertarian favorite Paul (well, almost), and two of the most successful GOP governors of the last two decades, Huntsman and Johnson.

During the campaign season, each and every one of his GOP challengers highlighted his flip-flops, his shady business past, his questionable character, and his lack of conservative credentials.

Despite this, and despite the primacy of the conservative agenda in the GOP, Romney ultimately smashed through the primaries with startling ease even as he reinvented himself as a 'severe conservative.'

Now, Romney may be an out-of-touch elitist narcissist with neither moral nor conviction, but he is not stupid. In fact, he may be the smartest GOP presidential candidate since Nixon.

And to say that the credit lies with his advisors and/or psychopants would be inaccurate, since it is an open secret that Romney personally manages his campaign's operation.

That not only is Rmoney dumb, but that he's spectacularly dumber than Commander Bunnypants. And that's no mean feat.

He does seem to be intelligent on a certain speaking level, but his actions show there's almost no self-awareness, either politically or socially.

And I find it fascinating that we're only realizing this NOW.
