NPR: New Hampshire Democrats Unite In Cry For More Debates

New Hampshire Democrats Unite In Cry For More Debates

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz came to New Hampshire to rally the party faithful and to bash the other guys. But a whole lot of people in the audience had something else they wanted her to address: the presidential debate schedule set out by the DNC, which comprised a total of six debates, and just one of them is the first in the nation primary state of New Hampshire.

Twice, Schultz had to give up on her prepared remarks and address the hecklers, who shouted, "We want debates, we want debates."

"Come on folks, we are all on the same side," Schultz told the crowd. "So let's make sure we focus on the Republicans. We should not be arguing amongst ourselves. We have a job to do. We have a president to elect."

That we are all NOT on the same side. DWS needs to be pressed on explanations for her support of Republicans in Florida.

be ousted in the next election and replaced by someone who represents the people. She lost us the House and Senate so far, and if she prevails with her tactics in this race, she is likely to lose us the WH.

Why she is the DNC chair, I can't think of a worse choice, is beyond me. How can the party remove her, she is clearly not working for Democratic candidates, we saw that eg, in the mid terms.

And yes I believe she is firmly protecting Hillary, she was after all one of the last loyalists to stand with Hillary's campaign in 2008.
Now let's take a look at some reality, shall we?

Those of you saying we don't need more debates need to think about this.
So far Republicans have had 2 debates and Dems have had zero. While CNN is raking in viewers with 23 million people, who is hearing Dem candidates? Nobody. That's who. Now, let's see how this works in the marketing and advertising world, shall we?
Naturally if you're selling something and believe me in this case, something is being sold, political ideology among a variety of candidates on both sides of the aisle, you have to have advertising. Nobody is going to buy your product without advertising, to state Captain Obvious here.

We can have excuses like "well people can get on twitter and hear Bernie" or "people can go to candidates websites and hear them" but honestly, that's an excuse and a very lame one at that. The average America isn't involved in politics. They're too busy trying to feed their kid or make their rent. Also, such examples aren't debates, it's stumping.

We need debates to get the word out about candidates, no matter who you're for. You all should be very concerned because the path that DWS has chosen is a very dangerous one and ultimately it helps Republicans a great deal!

Is it scary? You're damn right it is!
