The Genius of the Democratic Establishment

As many in the crowd chanted, "More debates!" Wasserman Schultz urged the Democrats not to fight among themselves and to focus on defeating Republicans. She called it "the largest political convention in Granite State history." Hmm... wonder why that was.....

State Republican Party Chairwoman Jennifer Horn called the chants for more debates a "mutiny" and said it was "as embarrassing as it was revealing."

"Democrats revolted against their party leadership because they are sick and tired of their presidential primary process being controlled by Washington insiders like DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz," Horn said. "Their frustration is understandable considering that the entire New Hampshire Democrat Party establishment, from Gov. Hassan to Sen. Shaheen, has coalesced around Hillary Clinton despite strong grassroots support for Bernie Sanders."

She called Shaheen and Hassan "party bosses" who are trying to control the outcome of elections."

"Shumaker also pointed to the second GOP debate on Wednesday for evidence of Clinton's formidable position. The Republicans repeatedly attacked Clinton as the Democratic standard-bearer -- not Sanders."

Note: Based on the portion of the debate I watched, not only did they not attack Sanders they called him HONEST, which is the truth (though they did call him a socialist instead of a Democratic Socialist). So a rigged system shuts out the honest candidate in favor of the candidate with all the money transactions and email scandals. They don't want to give him a fair shot and think that political dirty tricks are a-okay. With the mood of the electorate, let's just see how this works out for you.

1. what worries me

is that there will be a repeat of the near Civil War that happened in 08. I really believe it's possible that the superdelegates will get together and decide that Bernie is just "not electable" and will decide to try to shove Hillary down our throats, even if the primary votes are overwhelmingly in support of Bernie. I don't think it will ultimately fly, but it will bring a lot of ugliness to the campaign and it will weaken the Democrats for the general, not that the party elites care because they rather see a Republican in the White House than a progressive.

9. I think if this happens Bernie should run as an Independent. I always kind of understood why so

many in this country don't vote but I am really starting to get a real personal feel for why they don't. I'm not far from that position myself. People know the system is rigged against them and their vote doesn't count. I don't know how anyone can call what we have a democracy.

11. Can it be any more obvious that the DNC is engaged in anti-democratic meddling?

It should be viewed as anti-Democratic, but today's Democrats appear to not care about empowering voters. Sure, they talk a good game when they point out Republican malfeasance, but when it comes down to it they really are the "latte Liberals" many accuse them of being: push Liberal policies unless it impacts their wealth. They view Bernie and O'Malley as potentially impacting their ability to accumulate wealth, so they rig the game against them.

2. 6 debates, if it stands, will be a political disaster

6 debates makes no sense, especially considering the horrible times that the DNC has scheduled them.

The more Debbie Wasserman Schultz tries to explain the rationale, the more it sounds like the fix is in.

Less debates, less exposure for lesser known candidates, less opportunity for the best candidate to emerge.

I am Democratic and have voted that way for over 40 years.

The best way to get me to not vote for the Democratic nominee is to have a rigged system. If this 6 debate system and othe shenanigans do not stop, it's going to be hard for me to support the Democratic nominee.

There, I've said it. I have no problem supporting Hillary as the legitimate choice of the Democratic Party. I have a major problem with supporting a candidate who a rigged system seems to favor. doubt that I am alone.

All appearances of a rigged game should be immediately removed. Hillary has already said she would do more debates.

I suggest they schedule more debates, due to popular demand soon, or risk the same low turnout DWS had been so good at generating in recent elections.

13. you are not alone

i have no intention voting for a dem nom who is being forced down our throats by a rigged system. I also don't want to vote for a nom who is so weak that they need to be protected by the party elites. That is not someone who's going to be a good leader of our country. If webb Chafee O'Malley or sanders win the nomination, it will be clear that they won it because they fought for it but if Hillary gets it it will be clear that part of the reason she got it is because she was given every advantage and shielded from any real challenge. That's gonna turn off a lot of people in the general, especially the younger voters. And if on the other side they prop up Bush, we could be looking at an epic low turnout.

all I know is, if the Democratic Party establishment forces a candidate on us against the people's will, they have absolutely no basis to complain when that candidate loses the general election because people didn't want to vote. That lost will be on THEM.

I am not voting for ugliness and lies and manipulation. I am voting for the honest guy. No free pass - no pledge-y thing - from me.

I have never seen a Democrat try to completely skip over the primaries. This has got to be a first, and we can't allow it.

Sent off into a post-political life. Hillary can retire to do TV or practice law or be a grandma or work in foundations...and DWS can...hmm...I don't know? Alpaca farming? She's really quite useless, talentless and unsuitable for any sort of gainful work.
