Related: About this forumMSNBC: Democratic candidates stop being nice and start getting real
Democratic candidates stop being nice and start getting realClinton still refuses to utter the words Bernie Sanders in speeches and interviews and her campaign has said nothing negative for the record about the Vermont senator. Instead, Clintons team has has largely outsourced the dirty work to the super PAC Correct the Record, which unlike most super PACs coordinates directly with her campaign.
Correct the Record has privately been pushing out negative storylines on Sanders for months, and has deployed so-called trackers to videotape his events, as msnbc previously reported. Its done the same for Martin OMalley, who has stepped his rhetoric against Clinton as he tries to climb out of the single digits in polls.
And on the trail for Clinton, Democratic officials campaigning on Clintons behalf have begun pulling out their knives against Sanders. Clintons campaign has denied ordering the attacks and they do not appear coordinated in any way, but the barbs have aggravated and emboldened Sanders to go be more aggressive than he might otherwise have been.
It's disturbing not only that outlets are reporting about Mrs. Clinton's super PACs as mundane, but also that she's coordinating with them in contravention of the law. Whether this coordination is merely violating the spirit of the law will have to be determined by a court at some point.
The upside of Mrs. Clinton's attack is it's maybe just enough red meat to get the media to notice not only Mr. Sanders existence, but that he's leading in the early states.

DU, CBS, HuffPo, NYT, Thom Hartmann, Salon, The Guardian, Ring of Fire, Alternet, WaPo ... I guess the definition of Republican is anyone who criticizes Mrs. Clinton?
It's a matter of record that Mr. Brock is coordinating with the Clinton campaign. They're bragging about it:
How a super PAC plans to coordinate directly with Hillary Clintons campaign
On Tuesday, Correct the Record, a pro-Clinton rapid-response operation, announced it was splitting off from its parent American Bridge and will work in coordination with the Clinton campaign as a stand-alone super PAC. The groups move was first reported by the New York Times.
That befuddled many campaign finance experts, who noted that super PACs, by definition, are political committees that solely do independent expenditures, which cannot be coordinated with a candidate or political party. Several said the relationship between the campaign and the super PAC would test the legal limits.

If you think people will not question Sanders on his past or his description of himself as a socialist your living in denial. Questioning Bernie doesn't mean you are using right wing talking points. I know it is hard to hear someone who you think is the perfect candidate be criticized but this is primary season in a democracy and people have every right to question those running.
frylock
(34,825 posts)Try criticizing Sanders on the issues, if you can. Brock's bullshit was nothing but red baiting, and that is very much considered to be a right-wing attack.
