(18,115 posts)It is her and her alone preventing more debates. Bernie and O'malley would join non-DNC sanctioned debates if she graced her presence. But she won't.

I can't respect anybody who would put up with that level of bullshit. He is tainted by his close association.

(14,881 posts)CNN's Suzanne Malveaux caught up with Sanders following his headquarters opening in Ottumwa, Iowa. In an office filled with "Bernie" t-shirts, posters, yard signs, and some "Cats for Bernie" pins, he acknowledged that his support during what's been dubbed the "summer of discontent" has outpaced his political infrastructure.
"So what we are doing now is hiring on people. We have now dozens of people on the ground here in Iowa. Great crowds are wonderful, but that does not necessarily translate into votes. People need to be organized and know how to come out and participate in the caucuses," Sanders said.
Sanders said his campaign is not only hiring in Iowa, but also in New Hampshire and elsewhere, creating an organization structure to handle volunteers.
"We're doing it all over this country. Creating a political infrastructure with organizers, with volunteers, to make sure that supporters come out and vote. And that's how I think we're going to win this thing. We will be outspent -- let me just say this -- I know we will be outspent by our opponents. We don't have a Super PAC. We're dependent on small, individual contributors. But I think the grassroots movement that you saw out there -- that's what's going to win it for us."

(94,592 posts)...South Carolina and eventually super-Tuesday (10 States nationwide) require a scale of professional staff that I don't think his financial resources can accomodate.
Consider the following:
Iowa caucus turnout: 277,000
NH Primary turnout: 283,000
South Carolina turnout: 530,000
Texas (ONE of TEN Super Tuesday States): 2,800,000
See the difference?

(25,183 posts)the drip, drip, drip, of the email server thing. Who knows what's going to come out next, now that we hear that the server was not 'wiped', but merely had it's emails 'deleted', and thus recoverable?
A Hillary donor has to really be more than a bit concerned right now.

(24,689 posts)Where did that story originate if there is no truth to it? In some ways this could be good for Hillary if it wasn't wiped then she has nothing to hide.

(25,183 posts)wiping with deleting. I think that may have happened here.
It seems that most, if not all, emails that were deleted will be able to be restored in their entirety. I know I wouldn't want a GOP House committee going through practically all of my emails for the past several years!
There may be one or two things that are held up as "smoking guns" from the work being done on the server. They may possibly be explained away, but until this is done in a satisfactory manner, it may continue to erode Hillary's poll numbers. I figure a donor has to have something like that rolling around through their heads these days.
If such a smoking gun were to come out very shortly, I'd expect Joe Biden to jump in right away. The party bosses don't want to see Bernie get the nomination.

(24,689 posts)For sure there is some concern but this is not 2008. Hillary is in a much stronger position now... and most held on back then until the bitter end. The Bernie phenom will pass once the primaries move past NH.
