2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumPhew! The candidates won't cross paths in London.
The funniest passage from this Washington Post article by Philip Rucker and Dan Balz, "Romney prepares for overseas trip", which previews the Republican challenger's upcoming trip to the UK, Israel, and Poland:
[div class ="excerpt"]Romney plans to attend the opening ceremonies of the Olympics as a guest of the International Olympic Committee. The official said he will sit in a separate section of the stadium from the more than 100 heads of state who will be there, as well as from the official U.S. delegation, led by first lady Michelle Obama.
British authorities, meanwhile, are taking special care to keep Obama and Romney (as well as their motorcades) from crossing paths during their overlapping trips to London. The goal, the official said, is to ensure that the first lady and Governor Romney dont find themselves in a situation theyre not comfortable with.
But was Obama sometimes in the same room with John McCain during the 2008 campaign before the first debate, since both candidates were sitting senators?

(290 posts)Would not surprise me if somehow there will be a spin on how Romney offers such sound advice to the London Olympic Committee for their Security debacle that he saves another (his 2nd Olympics rescue) - just kidding. As mentioned previously, it's probably not a coincidence that this trip just so happens to coincide with the 2nd Romney fundraiser with all those major playing banks...mmmmm.....just to keep it low key and out of the lime light...
