Still using the voting machine instead of paper ballots?

Here is a link to Bev Harris' hacking democracy documentary ... a must see... it is about an hour movie and it aired on HBO several years ago... other major media stations would not air it... probably got law suit threats like fox did if they aired a documentary on Monsanto... I can give you a link to that video too if you like...

Everyone needs to see this and I think that after they watch it from start to finish they will never vote using a voting machine again.

I saw a tiny slice of the shitpie bev Harris served up a year before I got here. She is an old wound that runs deep. Pretty obvious that she deserved the granite pizza long before she got it. The DU was, imo, way over the top patient with her.

The OP has mostly links to Thom Hartmann. I am not sure why you may think the OP is a supporter of B.H. maybe I am missing something. Personally I welcome anyone here who is spreading the word of election fraud. It is an old old topic in the DU but until it becomes a topic of history We The People need to keep discussing it.

Thanks for the info, I also read the reply post giving me some history on the subject, as I am new to this social media site and did not know that Bev Harris had been getting into arguments regarding probable attacks on what she posted...

After reading it I concluded that she might of been trying to get the word out to inform people of what she had been discovering by whatever means possible to try and educate the voter why these machines cannot be trusted. It is obvious that unless you have a lot of money, you are not going to get much air time on any of the major television stations and many people do not read the daily paper...

I guess the greatest risk to America is for its citizens to remain ignorant. I know the corruption is deep in the gaming industry... you see it in the bars with the illegal video pokers and 8 liners... In fact, I was a technician for a game operator that supplied some of the bars in Wisconsin and I know that they are being used just as they are in the casinos.

Those machines in the bars can have their percentage of payout changed anytime by the operator by just flipping a few dip switches say at anytime of servicing or collecting... they have meters that record the amount of money going into the machine and they meter how much was knocked off or redeemed.... sure they do not have any obvious hopper to spit back coins but they all have that option to have a hopper added... the way they first worked was they had a so called knock off button usually on the back side of the machine... when a patron was ready to cash in, they would motion the bar tender who would witness the amount they had won, note it and then push the button to clear it and then pay them...

Well, to make things easier, Many of the machines have been fitted with a printer and players just print a redemption ticket and give it to the bar tender to collect their winnings... some of them that are paranoid about others witnessing this transaction have set some rules... some of them tell them to come back later or the next day and the money "cash" is put in an envelope so that when they are given it in the presents of other customers that may not know what is going on have no idea that that envelope is a cash payment for what was won on the machine.

In Wisconsin Governor Doyle (before Scott Walker) was trying to get these banned and out of the bars to limit the expansion of gambling. He almost succeeded by threatening to have the police confiscate them as illegal contraband if the machines were not out of the bars in X number of days as was printed in the Wisconsin State Journal at the time... the machines were pulled out of the bars as they were several times before for periods of times due to other threats of enforcement due to complaints prior to the ones leading up to the last ditch effort by Doyle to ban them from the bars and what happened is this; The gaming industry WAMO got together with the tavern league and deceived and lied about the machine claiming it was not a gambling device since the machine itself did not spit out any money like the ones in the casinos with hoppers... they won the court battle government leaders bought it hook line and sinker and changed the law from a felony to a mist meaner and legalized the machine for bars with a limit of only 6 machines per bar as the number not to be exceeded.

The gambling still goes on in the bars and government looks the other way and the new mist meaner laws now on the books are not enforced.... the law being that if anyone is caught gambling on these machines where in payments are being made to them by the personnel at the bar that they would be hit with a $500 fine per occurrence and per machine yet not risk loosing their liquor license as the faced before the new law that was passed which enabled the machines to be placed back into the bars after having had to of been pulled from all the bars as by the order of Governor Doyle...

The funny thing is many of these machines have had printers added that print out a paper trail of redemptive payout tickets which get redeemed just like the ones in the casinos... that is, the casinos (many of them) have disabled the hoppers and they no longer spit out coins or tokens for redemption to cash... instead, they print out a ticket which gets redeemed by the cashier... The same thing is going on with the voting machines... venders have sold their shit to ignorant naive county officials for the counting of the votes so as to do them this big favor in lightening their load of having to periodically count the peoples paper ballots as they had been doing with no complaints right on up to the advent of the machine that can screw you was offered as an option to consider by those that wanted to make a lot of money selling us shit we did not need for as often as a count was needed that had been working for hundreds of years...

After getting rich of the sale of them, they became corrupt... surprise surprise surprise... now that the seeds had been planted as in like manner by Monsanto, the sickle is being sharpened for to gather the clusters of the vine to reap the harvest of what in the mine of the controllers at control central stand to gain in exchange for rigging elections form those big spenders who line their pockets with super pack dollars to legislate favors... even nowadays from the bench... the same ones that threatened Fox New what would happen if they did or did not air the Monsanto report as they themselves dictate it should be re-written...

Rupert Murdock couldn't risk loosing all those advertising dollars now could he.... that is why citizens united is supported by the major news media stations as they look forward not to election time as it means mega dollars in political ad snippets from supper packs so why should they object and the rent is made worse by the blind following the blind for it is the blind that elect the blind as to the truth of what is going on since these are the ones that don't give a rats ass as to who and how many shall suffer as a result of all the pigs feeding at the troth... anything else I might add at this time I've reserved the right to hold till as such time requires till a little action produces something further to act upon.

Prefer it.

The poll workers are generally people I wouldn't want to count past their ages. If that high.

The last time I engaged in early voting, there were perhaps 10 polling stations combined. Each with a different ballot. Each ballot with over 80 questions. I was in one precinct for judges, another for commissioners, another for mayor, another for something else. When I stood in line there were only a few people--but later that day the line had well over 100 people in it. Same three poll workers at the tables.

So to count the paper ballot somebody would have to sort all the stacks of paper into the right pile for each contest. Then they'd have to go through the 20-25 page sheaf of papers and record my vote. That "somebody" would probably be paid the same as the pollworkers that I wouldn't trust to count past their ages.

And they'd have to do that for what? 100,000 people in Harris County? More?

And *that* is supposed to be reliable?

Look at it this way: When I went to caucus after the 2008 election some election folk showed up. The election reps screwed up. He and his partner kept coming up with different numbers for how many delegates HRC and BHO would get. We stood around for over an hour as they kept coming up with different numbers--sometimes their count was off by a few people, sometimes by more than a hundred. They finally each had gotten the same number at least once and agreed that was good enough.

People at the caucus were required to have voted in those elections. Some were bounced until they presented their election tickets--and at the end when they counted the # of people who voted for BHO at the caucus it exceeded the total number of people who had voted for anybody in that precinct. The election reps finally hand counted those present for HRC, subtracted that from the total number of voters, and put the resulting # down as those voting for BHO. Even though they saw HRC supporters that had left because the caucus took over and hour to get started and it was cold.

Yup. Paper always good. Machines always bad. Remember--vote early, vote often, and vote in pencil so we can correct your mistakes.

Sounds like a speech some voting machine sales rep would pitch to sell a machine to rig an election with invisible ballots they could change as imaginary numbers with no way to verify or perform a recount so as to steal an election by hacking the machine and destroying the evidence after the election...
