Are Far-Right GOP Supporters Fascists (and don't even know it)?

We saw this list on Rense.com. Like they say, ignorance is bliss. We post, you decide.

The following is from - Fourteen Defining Characteristics Of Fascism, By Dr. Lawrence Britt, Source Free Inquiry.co, 5-28-3.

Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia) and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14 defining characteristics common to each:

1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread
domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

neo-fascists, and I have been using it ever since. (Because, yanno, Hitler and Mussolini and such are the only ones you can get away with calling a fascist in front of the neo-fascists.)

...said, "Fascism is capitalism plus murder."

Considering the cheers by Republicans for state execution records and applause for folks dying for want of heath insurance, there might be more truth than speculation in your hypothesis...

Because they GOP was co-op by the Tea Party which got bought out from under the original movement by Koch brothers. This has pushed the right so far right that the whole party i about as far as they can go with out tipping over the edge

Funny how Obama is more of a conservative than Reagan was.
Judge Richard Posner th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago who was appointed by Reagan and classified as one most conservative judges at the time has said that
"“real deterioration in conservative thinking” over the last decade.
“I’ve become less conservative since the Republican Party started becoming goofy,” Posner said."

Funny how todays conservatives are only about limiting government control only on Rich, military industry, drug industry etc. But have no problems adding more government oversight about our private lives.
