Worst, Most and Record Breaking

Those word seem to be in every weather report I hear these days. Usually when those term show up in the weather reports places are considered disaster areas and start looking for government money to help. You could call it State Welfare. This is an important part of what our tax dollars do through the government.
I would like to know if the Senators, Representatives and Governors of the "red" states who are cutting right and left, who are blocking tax increases on the wealthy and complain about big government are going to turn down any State Welfare for their states since big government and taxes are so bad?
