2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCheryl Mills, Hillary Clinton Aide, Testifies Before House Panel
WASHINGTON Cheryl Mills, a longtime lawyer and adviser to Hillary Rodham Clinton, testified before a Congressional committee on Thursday morning about Mrs. Clintons personal email account and the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya.
The panel took a lunch break at noon and the questioning continued shortly before 1 p.m.
As Ms. Mills was being interviewed behind closed doors, the panels top Democrat, Representative Elijah E. Cummings, called on the committees Republican chairman to release a copy of Ms. Mills testimony. She had asked to testify in public, but the Republicans rejected that request, saying they had conducted all of their interviews in private.
The entire public does not deserve to have leaks that are taken out of context, and leaving the wrong impression, Mr. Cummings said to a group of reporters assembled near the interview.

That way they can lie about what she says.

but if they get her on some sort of gotcha, they can broadcast it to the world.

I doubt they could rattle her... This whole investigation has the distinct whiff or a star chamber.

(8,760 posts)6. I'm sure that you are correct about that.
It seems as if the only way to stop this endless investigation is to take back Congress from the Republicans.

and are refusing to allow public testimony speaks volumes about how politicized this is. Do you think the media will question their actions?

The GOP have a long record of holding private hearings,
and then releasing bits and pieces out of context to make someone look bad.
