The Green Party of the United States formally nominated Dr. Jill Stein, who campaigned on a promise to create a Green New Deal in America, as their presidential candidate at the party convention Saturday.
Stein had been the presumptive nominee for weeks, an assumption made official in a vote held at the partys convention in Baltimore, Maryland where Stein defeated activist and actress Rosanne Barr by a tally of 193.5 to 72. She will be joined on the ticket by Vice Presidential running mate Cheri Honkala, the National Coordinator for the Poor Peoples Economic Human Rights Campaign.
Taking the stage to Bob Marleys Get up, Stand Up, Stein vowed in her acceptance speech to, turn the White House into a Green House, and promised to be a true alternative in the presidential contest as a representative of, the only national party that is not bought and paid for by corporate money.

(22,308 posts)and anything that draws liberal votes away from Pres. Obama is something I am not in favor of.
I didn't alert this but I would be surprised if someone else doesn't.

(22,000 posts)If the OP was ranting on about voting for this person, I might feel differently. I don't see any sign of that.

On July 9, the Vermont Progressive Party nominated Nader, giving him ballot access in the state. On August 12, the United Citizens Party of South Carolina chose Ralph Nader as its presidential nominee, giving him a ballot line in the state."

Regardless of his history...I know Green Party members currently that tell me he never formally declared as a member of the GPUSA or any state party affiliate.
