2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDid Mitt Romney make half a million dollars off the 2002 Winter Olympics? $285,000 a year....
Mitt acts like he ran the Olympics like it was a volunteer stint in the Army or Peace Corp.
I never knew any volunteer that came home with over half a million bucks for it.
Articles trumping his hiring at the time mention his $285,000 a year salary will be defferred until the Olympics are in the black.
He made them a success and "saved" them right?
So if they were in the black did he collect his due salary?
Inquiring minds.....
"Romney pledged to spend no more money than the games take in, to spare taxpayers, to protect the environment and to take no salary until the Olympics are over and in the black.
When he is paid, it will be $285,000 per year _ the same rate as his predecessor, Frank Joklik, who resigned Jan. 8. Joklik claimed to know nothing about the excesses of bid executives while he served as chairman of the committee."

"The athletes haven't," he said. "Our job is to go to work for the athletes." Romney pledged to spend no more money than the games take in, to spare taxpayers, to protect the environment and to take no salary until the Olympics are over and profitable. When he is paid, it will be $285,000 per year - the same rate as his predecessor, Frank Joklik, who resigned Jan. 8. Joklik claimed to know nothing about the excesses of bid executives while he served as chairman of the committee. He will remain on SLOC's board of trustees. Romney will have to sever ties with any companies that do business with the games. Bain Capital has ownership stakes in many companies and Romney serves on various corporate boards. "

I'd like to know how much he made for his "service" to the nation, Utah and the Olympics.
Of course if he didn't get this money because the Olympics lost money I'd like to know that too
