I'm a Baby Boomer Democrat

at it appears to me that the DNC,the RNC,the corporatists, the corporate media, the billionaires that are investing one hell-of-a lot of
dollars to smear Bernie Sanders and make sure he does not win the Democratic nomination. So far these actions have not slowed the
Sanders Campaign momentum and the Corporate Media and the Billionaires/millionaires that own our Government are flat out bewildered........
When the DNC Chair tries tactics to slow or stop a particular candidate, well there is something terribly wrong with our political system and our/Democratic Party.
The Real Democratic Party of FDR,Truman,JFK and LbJ no longer exists and has not for several election cycles.

And the condescending admonition that "we can rebuild the Democratic Party from within" is hollow bullshit.
The Third Way has pretty much successfully taken over. Aside from Bernie, I am starting to see no reason to waste my time with politics now. Politics is turning into a high-stakes money game.

And Im really wondering if when we cast our vote and that vote does not correspond with their (the Corporate United States Government) intended candidate then it really is not counted.
Obama's campaign team was/made an exception but we all know that as it turned out a corporatist won anyway.

If there were any intentions of those in the Democratic leadership or Democrats with clout really wanted to rebuild the Democratic party and separate it from the Republican Corporate control than Debbie Wasserman Schultz would not be the Chairperson

By the time the primary votes are taken in Indiana, the process is over and the Candidates are already chosen. Im voting for Sanders and I know I will definitely hold my nose and vote if Bernie is not our candidate in the General when I pull the "D" lever

is why I wish the people who say oh you have to rebuild locally - would just STFU. It is condescending at the very best. Maybe the hypocrisy is more clear to me since I live in Florida and get to see Debbie in action.

The Political Pooh Bahs and their minions in the media conveniently ignore the fact of Sanders' surprising momentum. And when they do they dismiss it as a "flash in the pan" that doesn't mean anything. Just those whacky leftists "letting off steam" or something.

Whether or not Sanders has the "it factor" that could win the primary and possibly GE, he deserves to be taken seriously as a viable candidate who has obviously touched a chord among many voters.

...at least every day or two. I've seen him or stories about him on MSNBC, CBS, CNN, etc. more than stories about Clinton.

I haven't seen a single "dismissive" story about him at all, indeed it's been the opposite.

Unfortunately his "momentum" has stalled and now people are looking for reasons for it other than the fact that those who were entralled by him have topped out.

Just for one example, check out a replay of today's Morning Joe, where they were discussing whether or not Biden might enter the race, nervousness over Clinton;s chances, and discussing recent poll findings. It was like Sanders didn't exist.

That's just one example from an endless parade of similar "coverage" and discussions. I don't have the time to sit in front of the TV with a notebook in hand, but that's fairly typical.

and I'm quite aware because of my education and the fact that really on in Bernie's campaign he told us, "be aware of what the media tells you when it's only run by a handful of the wealthy"

well I'm paraphrasing but he basically said don't believe everything on TV.

They will do everything in their power to derail his chances. Their last firewall against unacceptable candidates is the Superdelegates , and we can bet they are already in the Clinton camp; or in case she implodes, the anyone but Bernie camp. Democracy at it's finest!

But they have many tools to use to maintain that power including vote fraud if their softer methods do not pan out.
That is why they never complain about voter irregularities in past elections...they might need that tool themselves.

It's all a game to these people, and dirty tricks are not frowned upon if it means a win.

are you just promoting a novel conspiracy theory by suggesting there's some sort of Svengali-like mastermind who is manipulating hundreds of very cunning executives, or are you saying the leaders of all these wide disparate groups have the same agenda and they all agreed to a participate in a grand collusion. Or is a dictum that no one should be allowed to criticize your preferred candidate?

I'm also a Boomer, and I have many questions, concerns and a fair share of critical skepticism about any politician, Sanders included. Conspiracy theories notwithstanding, money isn't the only factor that will determine whether or not he can be nominated, and I remain doubtful about how he gets there when the party leaders control the process through their "Superdelegates" to insure that those in power stay in power.

When ever the opportunity presents itself to talk to younger people, I apologize for the fact that my generation is destroying the future of their generation and life on the entire planet.

The single biggest thing we Boomers can do to atone for our collective planet-ruining greed is to get Bernie elected. Then young people could have a fighting chance at their fair share of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".

capitalism was not just about materialism then , it was about building and building jobs in a post industrial revolution world .Don't get me started on fucking robotics because that is a subject that offends everyone in a convenience based economy.

Our job now is to figure out how to have jobs for everyone , that isn't communism that is the way to not blow the planet up .
