On Obama's Bain Strategy: Love Seeing A Dem Finally Play Offense

After watching the GOP use every dirty trick in the book on McGovern, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, Gore, and Kerry, it's truly refreshing watching a Dem presidential candidate going after the Republican, and doing it without using dirty tricks!

Obama is teaching the party how to run for office. You don't run scared. You take the fight to your opponent. You use facts and the truth, and you challenge them. None of this, "take the high road" bullshit.

Republican offense always involves some form of lying or distortion or exaggeration.

Even if you're one of the apparently... half-dozen or so DU'ers who spend your time bitching about how awful Obama is, you've got to give him at least this point. The dude knows his messaging. He can hammer the hell out of a weak spot. And he's showing no sign of backing down or saying "sorry."

Imagine that, a Democrat not apologizing for being right.

And the whole time? Perfectly cool. The whole time? Connecting with Americans.

3. I'd love it more if he wasn't undermining his own message with the TPP.

We really need to see both truths and both cheer his campaign strategy, while simultaneously holding his feet to the fire on this TPP trade agreement that essentially will do the same by making outsourcing even more likely.

again, remember where we're at right now.

10% public approval of congress, and an economy swirling the drain, about to go down, etc.

"Oh, another politician is possibly a crook and a tax cheat? what else is new? Mehhhh"

the fact Rmoney is even remotely _close_ to Obama in the polls proves just how F***ed up
everything is

7. Big difference when you're already president, especially after 8yrs of GWBush's disastrous reign

There wasn't a political brain alive that didn't know that the Dem nominee in 2008 was winning the WH no matter who it was.

There were certainly no high-powered skills used in 2009 during Healthcare Debate - we'd have had single-payer 2 years ago. There were no high-powered skills applied to tax debate, either. In fact, there was a lot of rolling going on. And I say that as an Obama supporter and committed Dem activist.

You can't judge out of context, Yavin....it just isn't accurate. And....Romney is probably the worst GOP candidate we've seen in modern history. Dole had more finesse.

8. Agreed. I mean this campaign is saying Romney may have committed a FELONY

They are going HARD. The Republicans don't bat an eye when it comes to making outrageous claims. To say Romney committed a felony is a bold suggestion but it is a fair assesment. He is clearly hiding something. Put his feet to the fire and vet this man!

9. The burden of proof is on the administration.

and the president is an attorney. I'm sure he wouldn't have rolled this out there if he couldnt prove it. This is gonna get ugly, and not in Romney's favor.

This could drag out beyond the election, even after the republicans pick someone else and everything.

The wrong thing for the Romney camp to do at this point is to say "prove it". Once it is proven; it needs to be pursued. There isn't a way of doing it privately.

I remember once a guy a lied about getting a blow job. The GOP was very angry because he lied. I'd hate to see them suddenly be OK with lying and committing felonies. That would seem hypocritical.

Of course they would never do that.
