I believe Mr. Walpow is referring to an "on leave" period before the 1999-2003 gap in question.

(8,200 posts)If, and that is a big IF, the SEC begins an investigation those who attempting to protect him will be in jeopardy of committing perjury especially in view that one former executive has already contradicted this claim. I have little doubt that they would not hesitate to throw him under the bus if the are threatened. Romney may have made the most serious blunder of his life.
