The truth of the matter was that his son was dying.. there was no way this man could run for President then.. and he has needed time to heal.
So there is always room for VP Biden to run..

Personally, though, I doubt that he will, in the end. He and Hillary Clinton are cut from the same cloth, politically, in so many ways. While he will take some primary votes from current Clinton supporters, he will also take votes from O'Malley and Sanders, too. That will be detrimental to their campaigns in a more serious way that to Clinton's, in my opinion.
