A look into the mind of Bernie Sanders 40 years ago. He was progressive for life.

http://www.alternet.org/civil-liberties/bernie-sanders-was-full-gay-equality-40-years-ago

The article focuses on his support for gay rights decades before most americans, but read the entire letter it is a great read. His positions in a nutshell.

1. Supports full abortion rights

2. End the war on drugs

3. End criminal prohibitions on consensual sexual behavior (legalize gay sex).

4. Balance the tax code

5. Protect the environment

6. Universal health care

7. Stop propping up dictatorships overseas and getting entangled in destructive foreign wars like Vietnam

Bernie Sanders is a reformer who has consistently advocated for social justice and economic reform.

He doesn't need to evolve, he has been evolved the entire time.

Forget 40 years ago, I want democrats who will consistently talk like this today.

There are politicians who roll with the political tide and then there are reformers who fight the good fight no matter what the opinion polls say.

Bernie is a reformer, not a politician.

They would like him better if he'd been in the kkk when he was young.

Instead of the guy who had it right decades ago because he never changes.

How can you reason with someone like that?

Obviously their hatred gets in the way.
