Once the bull tackled the dummy, one of the people said, Does anybody know CPR? And one of the clowns said, Well, I know CPR, and starts kicking the Obama dummy in the chest. I just know whatever you believe that was inappropriate because that was at a family event and they were basically trying to put their views on young minds you know, the mother said.
Greenwood police said they have not received any reports about the incident, which in itself is even more shocking.
Creating effigies of the President, whether its George W. Bush or Barack Obama, is a violent display. And to bring politics into the rodeo although that may be a more appropriate place at times than Washington D.C. is tasteless.

(118,664 posts)their vote are captured. Look for more of this 'mob' behaviour as the GOP worries it will lose some of the votes of regular folk because their policies suck.

(19,458 posts)These people are acting like backwoods morans back when people had 4th grade educations. Is there any way we can give some of these counties away? And not one person complained. What a shithole the red states are.

(40,416 posts)I cannot remember anything like this happening before this election season. I am dumbfounded at how far into the gutter the GOP rhetoric has taken us all.
This makes me sad. Very sad.
We need a president Obama with a clear mandate, and a clear Congressional mandate to go with it.
Then, let the haters suck eggs for four years while all our collective lives improve.

(24,736 posts)as long as no animals are hurt. But they almost ALWAYS have a strong rethug bias which makes us terribly uncomfortable. One day I'll take the time to let the organizers know they are turning off a large segment of the population with their propoganda.
We note the rodeos that have a significant contingent of Native American participants are much more even-handed, less political.

(17,301 posts)Two years ago in October, our grandchildren, ages 1 to 6 years, came to visit us on the farm from Philadelphia. We took them to a local agriculture tourist farm. It had a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, hay rides and a band. Children and families from all over were running around having fun. We even met some families from Ireland. But the band kept singing anti-Obama songs. They made rude comments about our president and his birth certificate. So my husband went up and asked the band leader to stop insulting our president. The band leader did stop and we heard no more insults after that.
But really? Why are we forced to have to put up with crap like that at a family event? Do the owners really think it is appropriate family fun to make fun of our president? We have not gone back since.
