(5,811 posts)it puts the very smart O'Malley in a reactive position to a person on the GOP side very unlikely to be President. Because delusional racist Trump is so vindictive, it put vulnerable employees at risk, which is not okay. I just think it was a strategic misstep. It's mot fatal but it should probably not happen again.

(45,529 posts)put him name on things. There is no way he is aware of hotel workers trying to form a union. O'Malley probably knows more about it than Trump.
I have a freeper in my office who confided in my that he liked Trump because "Trump was one of the country's greatest businessmen." I told him that Trump declared bankruptcy 4 or 5 times allowing the government to pay off his creditors while he skated on to lend his name to other endeavors. He was dismayed. I told him trump inherited between $66 and $128 million. Who couldn't make a name for himself with that type of head start. Of course he didn't believe me and investigated it on his own.*
Why that story? The more people learn about scum like Trump, the lower he will drop in the polls. He is admired by people who don't know him and the Bush 29% aka "unrepentant assholes."
* Now he likes Ben Carson.

(5,811 posts)because it is very likely his poll numbers will rise.
Trump is also mentally disturbed, which goes back to his childhood when his father had to place him in a military boarding school after he was kicked out of an elite day school for bullying and extreme aggression. he also had a great manay mob connections. People of color are not going to put Trump or any GOP candidate in the WH.
Democrats and Independents need to be very clear no matter which of our candidates rise to the top, WE WILL SUPPORT that candidate. We have to be solid on this totally and completely solid.

(5,811 posts)With the added context of unionizing, I have a different take. I hope it works for the workers.
knocking out 2, one from each party at the same time
He has moxy.
I can't watch videos anymore so....if a transcript shows up I will read it.

(34,125 posts)with that comment. I can't watch the video right now because I have too little speed to watch it.
I was only commenting on how I thought it was great that he made his case against something Hillary said (Bernie too perhaps? I don't know) in front of a Trump building.
It was a silly, toss out comment to be nice to other candidates supporters because I wanted to be nice rather than the snark everywhere else.
I don't support him but I certainly do not dislike him.

(5,644 posts)Nothing but Trump, Trump, Trump.
I don't even watch MSNBC anymore because of it. I guess it's there way to getting into the GOP conversation so they can compete with FOX 'news'. If I wanted to hear about the candidates in the GOP I know where to turn. Am I just out of step, or am I supposed to be interested in what happening in the GOP 24/7.

(45,529 posts)Bingo! He gets a few of his soundbites played on the evening news. Bonus points if Trump lashes out at him.
Win-win for O'Malley.
I agree with you on Trump, but if O'Malley can gander some attention, I won't mind.

(5,644 posts)O'Malley can use the attention.

(32,886 posts)and they get more scrutiny and questions at debates too. There are two sides to that coin.

(5,644 posts)At least it should be an equal part about Hillary, Bernie and/or O'Malley on MSNBC, instead of that ridiculousness that is TRUMP most of the day. Just my opinion, of course.

(32,886 posts)As far as Sanders or O'Malley are concerned, they are farther behind the frontrunner of their party than Christie or Rick Perry are on the GOP side. You don't hear much about Christie or Perry on the news either.
