It felt like June was kind of long this year, but I didn't think it was that long.

thanks to the GOP. Now if Obama could convince the American people that GOP obstructionism has had a lot to do with these poor numbers.

but as you said, if the hateful repukes in congress would work with us, the UI numbers would go down so fast it would make our heads spin. Incompetent, spiteful imbeciles.

Unfortunately Obama and the Democrats are responsible for some of this. This all goes back to the loss of the House of Representatives in 2010, and how it is now causing the fallout. The Republicans are using their control of the House to slow down the economy which is part of their plan, but Obama and the Democrats are responsible for letting them hijack the debate in 2009 and 2010 and win back the House.

The House should have remained Democratic. If it had, Obama would probably been in a stronger position right now because the Jobs Bill and other legislation could be passed.

they just are not being created at enough of a pace to off set the republican purge of public sector jobs - education in particular.

How about their scumbag tactic of forcing the USPS to fully fund its retirement program to put it underwater?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-23/u-s-postal-service-to-cut-4-9-of-jobs-by-closing-almost-half-of-plants.html

They know what they are going, and it has dual benefits - they get to surpress the economic and employment numbers to try to defeat President Obama AND they get to destroy public employment so that the people who run the party can raid the tax payer piggy bank.

What takes the place of the USPS?

Why, UPS, Fed Ex ... ect.
