According to the latest Franklin Pierce University/Boston Herald poll released August 11, Sanders has taken a sizable lead in a major swing state.
With a seven point advantage, 44-37, Sanders is leading Clinton in New Hampshire. Sanders' lead marks the first time that Clinton is trailing in any Democratic primary poll, as the former Secretary of State is starting to show cracks in her armor. Vice President Joe Biden, though he hasn't declared his candidacy yet, polled in third place with 9 percent of the vote. The remaining candidates, former Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley, former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee and former Virginia Gov. Jim Webb, all polled with one percent or less.
Sanders' rise in popularity couldn't have come at a better time as the months inch closer to the primary election. Just as the Franklin Pierce University/Boston Herald was set to be released, the news broke that the Department of Justice had seized Clinton's e-mail server in regard to the issue that she had knowingly used a private account while holding the position of Secretary of State.
