A "Limiter"
A "Limiter" is a feature that does not allow the decibel level to get to a certain point.
That's why when they start cheering, and it get's loud, it gets cut off.
There were several times when the camera person tried to "sweep" the crowd, who was standing in ovation... only to have the sound cut out.
Used to have a "Limiter" on my old Pioneer Cassette recorder.
A "Limiter" is a feature that does not allow the decibel level to get to a certain point.
