Time to put it behind us, a tribute to Nye Bevan

Over the last few weeks (and also as far back as a few months ago) there have been some nasty things said on both sides about Bernie Sanders in terms of race and accusations back and forth between people. I'm not going to get in to who said what, but I will tell you who inspired this thread, Nye Bevan. I don't know Nye at all, but when I see a peace offering that was put out like that I believe it is real.

Yesterday as you know this whole thing came to a head (more of an explosion if you will).

It is time that everyone on all sides put this whole race war that has been raging on DU aside no matter who you support. No more accusations and no more nasty statements on race. We need to return to having a civilized conversation about it instead of acting like animals.

There are still about 20 nasty threads in GDP of all variety. I encourage people to pledge not to participate in them and let them drop off the first page.

If you want to go blow off some hot air, ask Lovemydog to answer your question like Donald Trump. He's actually got the part down pretty well and it will give you a good laugh:

I'm pledging not to post in GDP for 3 days (it is about Midnight PDT), so until Wednesday morning. I hope by then all of the nasty shit is gone (I will be around however in GD or other places).

I will defend my candidate against smears and lies wherever I see them. I do not engage in personal attacks on other candidates, nor do I intend to. I will stay focused on the issues, AND correcting any lies or smears, even if it isn't my candidate. We've had enough of the smear campaigns. People want to talk about issues, period.

it got too nasty for me. I am done with it. I will stick to news stories from Asia...or perhaps local California. I will vote when the time comes to it, but I have a bad taste in my mouth, from it and its not from eating Natto.

I've been spending most of my time in the Sanders Group and the Populist Group.

Ignore and/or alert, depending upon the nature of the content of the message.

I never put people on ignore, and alerting never has gone my way, ever. I have just given up on that front. Someone on the jury always has to comment to me to "grow a pair" .. like as if that's possible for me.

Been happier since I started using it.

If you don't want to use it, though, I get it.

I hesitate to ask, but did something happen to Nye Bevan?
