I am nearly 63 years old. I am probably the youngest member of my water aerobics class at Mt. Scott pool in working-class southeast Portland. I was amazed that at least five of the folks in the pool went to the rally last night. Another three said that they watched the live stream. All were excited about what they saw.

This is not a young white liberal phenomenon. Sanders' appeal is broad. His populist message resonates with all kinds of people. When you get past the media-imposed labels, his positions reflect the frustrations of boomers who watched their prosperity stolen by the supply-side criminals from Reagan and the two Bushes (with significant help from Bill Clinton).

It is not a radical idea to spread the prosperity of a nation in a way that rewards investment AND labor.
