DNC Debate Rigging Theories

I think its pretty clear DNC/Establishment is trying their best smooth the primary process for Hillary. If they had their way, there would be no debates/no primaries and Hillary gets her coronation. I can understand the theory its best for the Democrat candidate to come through unscathed while GOP candidates murder each other (I disagree but that discussion for another day).

The question is what is the main aim for DNC delaying and reducing # of debates? My theories.

1) Reduces free air time and exposure for other candidates. This is the most obvious, but I think its overstated. The general public doesn't care that much about debates. In fact having few actually increases the significance of each debate profile. One or two gaffes by Clinton, it gets lots of play without another debate to respond.

2) Time. Allows more time for Hillary to triangulate her positions. Right now all she has to do is staged events and she is not answering to anyone. She can see what works and doesn't. Plus time for allies to smear and try to sink opponents first before she has to bring out the big guns

3) MONEY. IMO most things in life can be explained by money. DNC biggest priority is fundraising. Primary fight where candidates are trying to win over voters is not conducive to raising, especially among DNC biggest contributors. This delay allows Hillary to get as much money from the donor base before she has to go all populist. I think they know with Sanders she will have to say things that aren't going to be liked by the donor base. The strategy is most likely limit this to 2-3 months, finish off Sanders, and hope the donor base has short memory before they go back for more.

There is no proof of this, in fact many of the points you claim as "truth" just aren't really all the accurate.

Sure Ocotber is a late start but it's still quite a bit ahead of the first primary.

I think Bill & Don's phone conversation was about Bill asking Don to use his inside GOP influence after he entered the race,to get Bernie Sanders an invite to the most un-progressive place in America. Liberty University.
But that's the conspiracy theory I think might have happened just to keep Hillary's polling numbers surging ahead of the others.

I have a few deeper theories as to how this invite may affect Bernie, but that's another thread since the results aren't in yet.

There's a whole bunch of "I think" conspiracy theories circulating, depending what direction one wants the conversation to move.
I am as much leaning towards mine as you are to yours.

Good Luck with yours. Maybe we can compare notes after the election is behind us.

Enjoy your evening.

because she can ride the name recognition numbers until she starts losing debates.

Then it will be so late in the game that Bernie won't have time to raise enough money to fight her on anywhere near even terms.

People tend to support Hillary because they think she will win. Once the air of inevitability fades, so will some of her support. They are trying to delay this as long as possible.

Hillary has never expected coronation, but I am beginning to think Bernie's supporters want it for Bernie, it will not happen. He has to sell himself.

He doesn't need to sell himself. He needs to show that his positions are better.
