Does Senator Sanders have support

from libertarians? I've not seen that group represented in any polling, so I'm curious.

Now, I know there are no libertarians on DU, of course, but maybe someone has seen some polling data I missed.

That was a poll of Democrats...so the 42% are conservative Democrats. cyberswede Aug 2015 #9

Actually, no. I'm interested in the answer for genuine reasons. You apparently don't have any answer, so never mind.

It isn't to pick off a couple of progressives or even left leaning individuals.

In some cases libertarians find themselves closer to the left than the right, although a lot of times it depends on which issues they prioritize. Bernie's stances on civil liberties, foreign policy, drug policy, and social issues are very appealing to some libertarians. Sometimes it's because they believe those issues to be the most important, and sometimes it's because they're "left-libertarians" who have more progressive economic visions than your average Paulbot or whoever.

A small amount of Bernie's appeal among young white men probably comes because, in addition to generally being popular with young people, Bernie comes closer to their vision when it comes to issues they care about like ending mass surveillance, ending the war on drugs, getting troops out of the middle east, etc. These supporters are, to be quite honest, not the best to have around, but you can't really push them away. For instance, Hillary may not like the hawkish, socially conservative Southerners who support her, but that's part of her coalition too. Neither the young libertarians who make up a small portion of Bernie's base or the old, white conservatives who make up a small portion of Hillary's base are meant to represent either candidate as a whole.

From what I read, they invited him.

And I can find no polls of the type you desire.

I haven't seen any polls either. Sanders has support all over the spectrum. People are sick of the same ol' same ol'.
