Poll: 1-in-4 uncommitted now in White House race
AP foreign, Sunday June 24 2012
LAURIE KELLMAN
Associated Press= WASHINGTON (AP) They shrug at President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney. They're in no hurry to decide which one to support in the White House race. And they'll have a big say in determining who wins the White House.
One-quarter of U.S. voters are persuadable, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll, and both Obama and Romney will spend the next four months trying to convince these fickle, hard-to-reach individuals that only he has what it takes to fix an ailing nation.
It's a delicate task. These voters also hate pandering.
"I don't believe in nothing they say," says Carol Barber of Iceland, Ky., among the 27 percent of the electorate that hasn't determined whom to back or that doesn't have a strong preference about a candidate.

(16,916 posts)1. If you "don't believe in nothing they say"
then you believe in everything they say.
If these are the people that determine the outcomes of our elections, then I understand why we're in a pickle.

(305 posts)4. What that tells me is Obama is in trouble.
If President Obama hasnt gotten these people in three and a half years when does he expect to get them. Or, these people just don't care and won't until the last week or two of the election.

(33,497 posts)6. I hate to say it but that big of an undecided is not good for an incumbant
many studies have shown that undecideds usually go 2-1 for the challenger. I hope that will not be the case this year.
