Related: About this forumI am sick of hearing about Ann Romney's horses.
Frankly I don't give a damn. Let's move on.

(36,693 posts)however how the candidates think is important when they talk of the economy.
That one of the candidates is able to take a deduction on his horses (a hobby) that is more than half of this country makes in a year and talks about how many houses and cars he has shows how out of touch he is with the masses makes the fluff somewhat important.
Willard was born with a golden spoon in his mouth and has never wanted. How he shown any empathy for people that has not had his advantages?? He can not relate to people below him.
To Add: There has to be a plan to transfer a lot of the money at the top to the middle and bottom. Without this this country will continue to fall towards the bottom. Anyone that does not work towards this, in my opinion is a traitor.

(35,699 posts)And focusing on that just makes us look foolish and not serious.

(82,383 posts)The Republicans aren't shy about using anything they can find against us. Why should we ever give them a pass?

(35,699 posts)And there is the question of keeping it classy. We can beat Romney without stooping to their level.

(82,383 posts)Other threads will complain that the Democrats roll over and let the Republicans bully us. It's a question of where to draw the line. With all the BS said about Obama, if Ann and her horses hurt the Rs in any way, it's OK by me. She's an adult. She engaged in fraud (at least it is alleged). If you see the things Rs say about the First Lady, it is hard to give A. Rmoney a pass on this one.

(1,034 posts)so they are rich, so what. They can spend their money how ever they wish. The issues are the economy, creating a solvent future for this country and propping up the middle class. Many other issues dovetail into those, education, etc.
But horses and car elevators, are simply not relevant in my opinion.
The President will probably get reelected, we each must work to make it a real win by working for regaining the Congress and keeping the Senate.

(82,383 posts)It was about fraud - selling a horse that had problems and not being up front about it. That goes to honesty. If they are rich, they don't have to cheat as they did. They could have been truthful about the horse.

(21,925 posts)and since he will offer no details as to what he plans to do if elected other than "trust me", I think perhaps any insight into his character and values helps flesh out the kind of person and decision-maker he's asking Americans to trust.

(21,925 posts)was to get around it through fraud. The horse was insured but the policy didn't cover the particular problem with the hoof because it was pre-existing and therefore known.
