Obama's fate rests on first debate?

On CNN's website claims the whole race will be decided on October 3rd.

So if Obama stumbles in the first, he might as well spend the rest of the fall packing.

So the pressure is all on Obama?
The presumptive Republican nominee won't have to knock Obama out, but if the night ends with the president appearing to be on the back of his of his heels, the game is over.

So Obama is the underdog in a debate?

Nowhere to run.
Nowhere to hide.
And not a teleprompter in sight.
Just Romney, the list of promises Obama made in 2008 and his list of accomplishments heading into the stretch run of 2012.

I know CNN is nothing but FOXlite but this one is really disgusting. Read full story at link.

And, I don't think they're predicting anything. They're going to spin the debates however they want them, and this is probably just a hint that they're going to spin it against the President regardless of how he performs. These same people claimed Dumbya won his debates, even though Gore and Kerry both wiped the floor with him in every debate they had. Watch for a repeat here.

24-hour news coverage. If they were to stick to FACTS, Romney would be 20 points down. The media can't let THAT happen, which is why they ignore Romney's lies, ignore the fact that he has over-seas bank accounts, had over-seas stocks which he just sold, and more "inconvenient" truths.

In reality the main thing that will decide this election is the economy/jobs. As long as things continue as they are now with slow steady improvement, Obama will win. The media knows that but thats too boring to talk about every day until November.

Obama hasn't run or hidden from anything yet, but Romney ran from the question on the DREAM action, and routes his campaign bus to hide the towns that he destroyed with Bain.

Obama has given answers to all he's been asked. Some people aren't willing to listen when he is open minded enough to listen and learn, or think leadership is slogans and sound bites. Or they just can't handle that the man doesn't agree with them on everything since the beginning of time.

FFS! His opinion doesn't match the one the media told us it should be! Let's all go right into a sputtering rage! Good old B & W, GOP think.

Perhaps the 'balls' brigade preferred Shrub wearing a codpiece with a banner behind him declaring 'Mission Accomplished.' If that's their idea of strong leadership, they'll vote GOP.

Who needs a teleprompter when you have a working brain and the ability to think on one's feet like Obama has?

The 'teleprompter' meme is a right wing dog whistle to racists who insist that a black man can't be as intelligent, or more intelligent, than this boatload of buffoons the GOP has been tossing in our face since Reagan.

The debates should not be done in the carnival atmosphere of the cable networks. We should not dignify these hucksters by calling them news outlets. They spent months drooling over Bill and Monica while the Starr Chamber blows $80M on a witch hunt, then gave non-stop coverage of Anna Nicole Smith's dysfunctional and completely irrelevant life to the nation's need for real news. Then ignore or shut out all voices that oppose their corporate masters.

So we will forced to endure the hypocrisy of this cable dog and pony show to get any coverage. That's how badly a great source for learning, television, has been corrupted by big business. This debate should be held in a place where they respect minds, like a good university, where the moderators know how to run a debate.

Yes, SoutherDem, CNN is FOXlite and they're getting worse everyday.

But it's clear this article is written by someone who doesn't support the President.

With that said, a bad debate performance can hurt a candidate. Bush held a near-double digit lead on Kerry prior to the first debate and it evaporated overnight because his performance was so bad. Yes, he won, but had the race been closer than it was prior to the debate, it very well could have shifted the race in favor of Kerry. This race could be closer and a similar result would help Romney.

Of course, Obama is not Bush. Obama is a fantastic debater who took out Hillary Clinton & John McCain (who, while boring, was not an oaf like Bush).

Obama won't need to run or hide from Romney. He's going to make him look silly.

What will matter is fraudulent vote counting, disenfranchisement of Democratic voters, $1 billion in hate/attack ads from the radical right and willful ignorance on the part of American voters--and EVEN THEN, Romney has an uphill battle.

The Republican leadership is fully aware of this, WHICH IS WHY they are using fraudulent vote counting, disenfranchisement of Democratic voters, $1 billion in hate/attack ads from the radical right, and hoping for willful ignorance on the part of American voters.

On an even playing field, Obama would bury Romney into single digits, and they know it as well as we do.

Romney will be the one tying himself in pretzel-shaped knots in the debates trying to "debate" with President Obama and I just don't think he's up to it. We know what President Obama stands for and where. We have absolutely NO clue where Romney stands and, at least so far, all we've got from him is a plethora of lies, half-truths, and talking points to rely on for figuring out where he (might) stand on any given subject. *ugh* I have a hard time seeing how these debates are going to work out to Romney's advantage. Oh and about those list of promises and accomplishments...........................
