Why a Trump third party run could really help the Democrats

In today's political environment, voters are constantly seeing polls. If they are constantly seeing polls with their presidential candidate way behind, they are less likely to vote. This can have repercussions for results in the House and the Senate. That was the reason for the so-called un-skewed polls in the 2012 presidential election.

A recent McClatchy-Marist Poll showed the following results:

Clinton 44
J.Bush 29
Trump 20.

If results like these are repeatedly showing up in polls, it would be hard to convince people with a few un-skewed polls That Bush would really have a chance to win. This could result in the Democrats winning a majority in the highly gerrymandered House.

whoever the Democratic candidate is ... it would, likely, kill us down ticket, as it would boost republican, and unlikely Democratic voting independent, turn-out.
