(14,881 posts)Rmoney's business experience, gubernatorial experience and Olympic experience are not a plus.
I'm guessing they tied on Michelle versus Anne out of politeness. What were they going to say? Anne is a privileged snoot who likes to see women forced to work and raise their kids at the same time and defrauded a client on a drugged up, unsound $125K dressage pony?

(34,857 posts)Economy: Halperin says voters consistently give Romney higher marks on the economy. No. No they don't. Some polls have, yes, but an equal amount have also said they prefer Obama over Romney. So, right off the bat, Halperin is already wrong.
Message: He suggests Romney has the edge here. Why? Oh, that's right, he's going with the current narrative that Obama has no message. What's Romney's message? His remarks are often muddled and he's forced to defend stupid things. I wouldn't say Obama's message is overwhelming, but to give the edge to Romney? More lazy journalism by Halp.
Campaign team: Halp says it's a tie. Maybe, but Romney's campaign continually undermines him at every step. It was just a couple days ago his campaign had to rebuke one of its own members who admitted Rubio wasn't being vetted. Yes, every campaign team has its moments and gaffes, but Romney's campaign has it all the freaking time.
Money: Agree here. Romney will have gobs of it.
Electoral College: Halp says it favors Obama. It certainly does. And this is the most important one of 'em all.
Running Mate: Yup. Halp is correct. Biden might have his gaffes, but he brings a lot to the table and won't be a liability.
Spouses: Halp says it's a tie. I say he's full of shit. Ann Romney's favorability ratings are far worse than Michelle's.
Stumbling: Halp is right. Obama might make a gaffe here and there, but he's about as disciplined of a candidate as we've seen.
Debates: Obama by a lot. Halp got it.
October Surprise: Eh, no need to have this category considering no one knows what will happen. It sounds like he threw this one in just to make it a tie, as Obama was leading 4-3-2.
By my count: Obama wins.

(2,307 posts)I will give him the one on the economy, and money for Romney. I won't argue with a tie on campaign team.
But, message? With Romney the question is which message, yes he will talk economy but on most issues you have Gov. Romney, Primary Romney and Nominee Romney. If the Obama team will keep reminding people of the Romney Trinity I think they have a good message, not to mention Romney's biggest "references" Bain and the Olympics have their truth behind the lie.
As to October surprise that could go both ways and spouses, well Anne appears to be a rich lady who is a perfect match for Romney, Michelle is a people person, enough said. I can imagine Michelle changing her daughters' diapers, I can imagine Anne calling for the nanny to change her sons'.
Back to economy, Obama needs to keep reminding where we were without running against Bush and he may do ok on economy.

(308 posts)Obama & the DNC need to do a better job of connecting Romney to Bush. 1) They need to point out that Romney's policies of tax cuts for the rich and de-regulation of Wall Street lead to the financial collapse in 2008; 2) They need to point out that the Bush family and the Bush advisers are very close to Romney. Romney's team is full of the same economic advisers and people who worked for Bush.
Romney = Bush 3

(22,897 posts)And, IMO, they didn't pull any punches when it came to the repukes. So why would Halperin write this??
It's hard to tell the players without a scorecard, I guess
