That's a 10-point swing from Quinnipac's last poll. It's hard to see what could cause such a large swing from one month to the other like that, but it puts Obama back into the lead narrowly over Romney for now.

Several sites, including Nate Silver's at the NYT, currently have Florida leaning towards Romney, so perhaps this will even it out again.

But Florida makes me nervous. After what happened in 2000, and with what's going on with Rick Scott's voter purge, you never know.

Yes, but I don't think this poll has a lot to do with immigration or Hispanics. The poll shows Obama with only about a 6-point lead among Latinos, and a large number of Latinos in Florida are Cuban and more Republican-leaning than those of us in California, for example. This swing comes mainly as a result of an increase in Independent support, according to the pollster, rather than Latinos. A 10-point swing in one month is quite a large swing, so we'll see how it develops.
