Beware of the caucus states. Apparently, we stole the electoral votes from Hillary to give to Obama.(Or at least that is how Hillary supporters argued back in 2008 on the feminist sites...) It was the young upstarts. We are getting ready to caucus again, it was so much fun last time.

One of the main thing that worries me about Bernie is that he is running his campaign like a slightly bigger version of his Senate campaigns. He doesn't seem to get that expectations and requirements when running for President are an order of magnitude higher.

If he is going to build a viable organization, he's better do it FAST. And he needs some real pros involved.

as Bernie rises.

If Bernie can win Iowa and New Hampshire it will affect all of the other states.

It bursts Hillary's inevitability bubble.

I like stuff like that, even if I don't agree with its premises or conclusions.

It should be recognized that there are people supporting Sanders who are, in fact, NOT white liberals from Vermont. The disagreement is whether or not a lot of these "others" will vote and, if so, will they really march to the polls solely to vote for HRC. The writer apparently believes so. Others do not.

(incidentally, were the highlighted terms in the article in the original or were they added later?)

Thinking about how many non-Catholics voted for JFK (yeah, I was around back then) I suspect things are often not as predictable as the experts and pundits might prefer.

there must be a fuck-ton (that's a scientific measurement, you know) of white liberals, in all 50 states.

Or maybe there are just a lot of people out there who've had enough of the status quo.

his outreach to POC recently should make it all better?

OTOH it comes after Hillary already organized her outreach, so in this case leading from behind may not pay off so well.

it seems difficult to believe that Bernie could win the Super Tuesday states.

It also seems that he would have a tough time in states like PA, where there are a lot of delegates at stake. We don't have an open primary here. This also is not a very progressive state.

When Bernie first announced his candidacy, many here asked questions about these very problems. No one really was able or willing to answer those questions----and the problems still exist.

She does not support what he does--she is the enemy of poor people; the Uncle Tom of women and children; a Quisling to labor; and the pal of Wall Street, Walmart, Big Energy, and the criminal banksters...and a lot of us are deeply committed to driving what Hillary supports out of the tent and her Republicrat supporters with her.

I hope he has the good sense if he loses to throw his support to O'Malley. Marty's not perfect...but he's not a stealth corrupt Republican like Hillary.

You hope if Bernie does drop out that he doesn't support the Dem nominee? One that you obviously aren't voting for? On a site called DEMOCRATIC Underground? Are you in such a position of luxury and/or privilege that a President Scott Walker doesn't terrify you?

24. Only as much so as President Hillary Clinton.

A Hillary presidency is terrifying to me. I cannot be clearer about this than I have been for the past 7 years. Hillary Clinton should be treated as the true political enemy of the American left that she is--We all know Walker and the Bushes or the Kochs are evil...she's the traitor inside the Democratic tent.

More of my political energy has been and will be expended against her than any Republican because more needs to be expended against Hillary. There is a deep necessity to utterly destroy her and her political career this primary season to end her, Clintonism and her shitty Third-Way/DLC corporatist politics forever. Only after we have purged the corruption from our midst will it ever be possible to combat the opposition.

This is the face of my truest enemy. She needs to exist no more as a political entity forever. Doing so will position us best to crush conservatism forever; allowing her to remain and co-opt conservatism into our party instead insures our destruction.

You'll note what I actually said was that I'd lose respect for him if he dropped out and endorsed Clinton instead of endorsing O'Malley. There really can be no more lightfooting around it...the left needs to staunchly oppose Democratic centrists exactly the same as we oppose Republicans. There can be no more quarter with the likes of Hillary. She's not on our side and we should stop pretending she is.

Was the 9th most liberal senator of her time. Even if you only agree with 50% of her platform, what percent do you think a Repub prez would you agree with? She's a grandmother who dedicated her life to helping fight AIDS in Africa. Hardly "evil".
