Why does Real Clear Politics put a (D) behind PPP but not a (R) behind Ras? (Original Post) WI_DEM Jun 2012 OP

SEIU/Daily Kos is a Democratic outfit, and I got no problem with that being made public, as is PPP, but Rasmussen is a Republican pollster and it's time people start knowing that.

They do everything they possibly can to put a thumb on the scale when it comes to the polls they report.

It indicates whether they work for one of the parties. Ras leans right but doesn't work directly for Republican candidates, while PPP does closed polling for the party in addition to their public polling.

He doesn't conduct polls for political candidates or organizations (or for anyone, for that matter) and his revenue is generated by subscriptions and advertising.

However, his political bias is pretty blatant and his polls seem tailor made to drive Fox News stories.

PPP actually conducts polls for Democratic and progressive clients (although they also conduct them for non-partisan clients too). Thus they get the D by their name.
