PHOENIX (AP) Three months into Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign for president, there are fresh warning signs she may be falling short with some Democratic voters whose enthusiasm will be essential to her success in 2016.
While Clinton remains the front-runner for her party's nomination, new polling by Associated Press-GfK shows a drop in her favorability rating among Democrats. Financial disclosure documents filed by her campaign show the bulk of her money coming from big donors, hinting at low enthusiasm with average supporters. And she's facing pushback on her positions from some liberal activists on the campaign trail and at party gatherings.
Clinton was noticeably absent from the roster of speakers expected this week in Phoenix at the Netroots Nation convention, an annual gathering of about 3,000 liberal activists and organizers who frequently volunteer on presidential campaigns. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, a rival for the Democratic nomination, and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren planned to address the conference. Several attendees said the two liberal luminaries were pushing Clinton to the left but that they still had reservations about her candidacy.
"I think a lot of people will talk themselves into thinking what a great president Hillary Clinton will be," said Jose Martinez Diaz, a 36-year-old Democratic digital organizer from Washington, D.C.

(371 posts)Hillary is just as inspiring as watching paint dry. In other words, she's pretty predictable and boring, and represents the status quo. In other words, very little to no enthusiasm for Clinton. She has 100% name recognition, and she is losing supporters on a daily basis.
On the other hand, Bernie Sanders is very enthusiasm and appealing on all spectrum of the political system. From Marxist to Teabaggers, they hear Bernie's message and they LOVE it - he's speaking to their soul, and not their dollars. That's what is excites everyone - that Bernie is not thinking about the dollar amount that he can raise, but what he can do for them if he is elected as President of the United States. You can bet your bottom dollar that progressives will be riding on Bernie's coattails and recapturing both House and Senate - yes - even the House, despite the gerrymander - HIGH voter turnout can overcome gerrymandering.

I say to them - WHATEVER. It's AP-GFK poll, and they're denying the facts. Period.

(67,782 posts)....here's one:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2015/07/16/bernie-sanderss-limited-appeal-even-to-democrats/
I'll try to find the other one, but the "takeaway" from that one (gosh, I HATE that term, this is the first time I've ever used it, sorry!) was that of four candidates (Clinton, Sanders, Bush, and one other republican) she was the only one with a favorability rating higher than her unfavorability rating.
I guess it depends on which poll and which week we're looking at.

(67,782 posts)....that had the front runner at 100% and all the others at 0%. There will always be some who are "not quite ready" for a candidate.
We don't need everyone, just one more than the closest rival.

(99,744 posts)They have known her for 25 years and she gets only 50-60% of Democrats?
Other than political junkies not many knew Bernie or O'Malley.
Those backing Bidden that isn't going to run already show she isn't a favorite of theirs. Where do those votes go in the primaries?
As long as she is seen as the front runner the right will keep unfairly singing Benghazi. They will whisper she is a woman. We know how the right thinks about women. They will misquote her. You know the drill.

(2,672 posts)but that's it, empty rhetoric. If Clinton is elected president, (which I don't think will happen) she will fall back to her old self, which is warmonger and wall streeter, among other things.

(9,359 posts)They are beating her up so the independent vote peels away from her. Republicans don't want to be her to the point of Democrats not nominating her, but just to the point that undecideds won't elect her.
