(22,271 posts)But her supporters eat it up. It reminds me of a line in one of Ronald Reagan's speeches that went something like:
"What would America be without this great country of ours?" His audience applauded wildly and I'm sitting there going, "Huh?"

(7,014 posts)as the best role model she could have. When your father was twice elected to the Presidency and your mother elected to the Senate and appointed Secretary of State-and you yourself have graduated from Stanford, Columbia and Oxford with a Doctorate-the pettiness of those who seek validation in the ridicule of your parents' challenges and successes must seem, I don't know -- odd maybe?

(10,565 posts)It is actually a good thing when you grow and become a better person. You make it sound like it's a bad thing. Is Obama a bad person because his view has changed with a lot of other good people?

Whaddya think?

(7,014 posts)Sorry, but it just jumps out at me.

(13,340 posts)I know a lot of people have "evolved,". Even me (though I "evolved" quite a while ago).

(62,444 posts)I have some kind of curse. People think I'm hilarious when I'm not kidding.
I thought the first reply would be someone whining, "Why only TWO!" in a spasm of poutrage.

(22,271 posts)I just like the way your mind works, at least as reflected in your posts.

(14,524 posts)Why supposed "progressives" are so interested in imposing their personal views of what marriage "should be" on everyone else, baffles me.

(27,985 posts)Polyamorists were politely waiting for gays to open the door. We have shoved our foot in the door and we will be the next. One day I would like to hear that a man, a woman, another man and oh yeah, his girlfriend are standing at the altar. So marriage will eventually be a man and a woman and another man and another woman.
Back in the nineties, we had a wonderful wedding just like that. Of course, it wasn't recognized, so we legally married off the right wage earner with the other right wage earner (with the right equipment, Man and Woman) so that we could make sure that all of us had health care and that we could take advantage of the married tax deduction. But one day, such acrobatics won't be necessary.
We waited for the gays to get their marriage equality. It will be our turn next. I guess that's the one that will turn marriage on it's head.

(957 posts)Hillary and Bill believe in the Mistress approach to marriage,so long as the Wife keeps the power and money.

(9,126 posts)I say this as someone who was just on another thread bashing an article trying to out Bernie for his first child. A candidate's personal life has nothing to do with politics. Her policies and stances are fair game, her marriage is not.

(36,926 posts)but my choice, all things being equal, is always the non-misogynist one, just like Hillary, if I may be so bold to might add.
