3. This Reminds Me of Reagan

2nd term. I was standing in line at this hotel/bar waiting to vote. The polls had just closed on the east coast (5PM my time) and Dan Rather comes on and says CBS has projected Reagan. I walked out, I had a concert to go to in Boulder, but many walked out with me. There was still 2 hours left in my time zone and it was over.

6. That election was won 525 to 13. I think it was quite safe to call it when they did.

Its obvious that the news stations try to be the first to predict who will win, and they sometimes get it wrong, but 1984 was a time when damn near everybody knew who was going to win very early on.

I'll agree with you, that until the votes are counted nothing is officall, but we as consumers want news as fast as possible, and that means predicting things sometimes before they are final, and this in this case, it looks like Walker won. You can be mad, but I wouldn't go blaming the messenger.

Milwaukee waiting to speak their minds. And in that city, I doubt they are waiting to sing Walker's praises.

5. I REPEAT, IT AIN'T OVER!

They called this entirely too soon. If this sticks then it proves that they can say anything to us and it doesn't matter because the FIX is in. This feels like the fix was in, but it ain't gonna stick. Before the sun rises in the morning some shit is going to hit the fan that no one is looking for right now. He did not beat Barrett like they say he did. No way. They didn't even count up to the 900,000 who signed the petition before they called the race. I ain't buying it.

8. Stashed in the back seat of my Ford Focus, I have 14,000 uncounted votes

in a plastic bag with a broken seal. Let me know when I should call a press conference and trot them out. (It's an honest mistake. Anyone could misplace a few thousand votes, right?)

Also, all of should check under your couch cushions for uncounted votes. There could be thousands there.

Isn't that how Republicans manage to end up with just enough extra votes to win a close election?

There is always something fishy about election totals now that we have no way of verifying vote counts and no way to defend against widespread voter suppression tactics.
