I know this may sound superficial but,

I was in a doctor's office this morning and the waiting area TV ran a clip of Ted Cruz and his wife addressing a crowd somewhere.

He looks so creepy - a chalky paper mache-like character - that it almost freaks me out, and that's not even taking into account his crazy ideas.

I know we aren't supposed to knock someone's looks, but this guy seems so bizarro on so many levels.

looking at him and listening to him ... I came away with the impression I had just witnessed pure evil (i.e., the character of satan).

the audio was disgusting enough. I don't think I can stomach watching.

Cruz is his own biggest fan. He has terrible taste.

has a TV on. I don't care what channel it's tuned to, I don't need mindlessly video and audio around me all the time. And sadly, far too often it's tuned to Fox, which is genuinely horrifying.

I'm not talking about the Republicans who promoted Sarah Palin as our next vice president because she was "hot." I'm talking about public figures who always look half crazed. Remember Michelle Bachman? Everybody gets caught looking grumpy, etc. but some of them look scary in every photo, and there could be a reason for that.
