(19,537 posts)That didn't stop him from running as an independent when voters lost confidence in the way he ran as a Democrat and he lost their vote for the party nomination for senator.
Seems like a total logical question to me with that history in place.

(26,060 posts)why would you think she'd do it now? Or are you one of the DUers that INSISTED she would take the fight to the convention floor and then run independent? Let's remember you're talking about someone who has ALWAYS been a Democrat while being in defense of someone who still doesn't belong to the Democratic party.

(71,265 posts)Questioning Sanders is now considered a hideable offense.
cyberswede
(26,117 posts)but to claim it was merely "questioning Sanders" is a pretty naive view.
It's clear that some DUers are tired of the disingenuous "just asking questions" schtick; so I guess we all still take our chances with juries.
I posted my 2 posts to demonstrate how ridiculous these types of posts are. Maybe they weren't alerted on.
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)It is legitimate to state you have concerns he might change his mind and go third party.
And to be frank Hillary gets things hurled at her all the time and it is not hidden.
It has become clear thst questioning Sanders is verboten.
cyberswede
(26,117 posts)It's a transparent ploy (which my spoof posts illustrated), and a jury decided they wanted to hide it.
Asking legitimate questions about Sanders's positions, record, philosophy, evolution on issues (like gun control), etc is certainly not verboten. But that's not what that hidden post was doing.
That poster is not going to change who she supports based on the answers to any of those "questions" (and Hillary will probably be the nominee anyway), so I fail to see what is accomplished by these ridiculous "just asking questions" posts, other than to stir shit.
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)This was about silencing a HRC supporter pure and simple.
As an independent senator he does not have the party loyalty as other senators do. Now so e here find that appealing and that is fine but all Boston Bean did was say she had concerns that he could change his mind.
People change their minds all the time.
This was an abuse of the jury system pure and simple.

Do you think Hillary would run as a third party candidate if Bernie were nominated?
And if she would, would you vote for her?
I would not vote for Bernie if he ran against a Democrat. And I am a big Bernie supporter.

(20,176 posts)Basically, perhaps you get up today and you have a run-in with an asshole at the Dunkin Donuts, then another one at work and maybe one driving home from work and some asshole calls you to give you grief on the phone right before bedtime. It's a bad day, sure...but everybody has a bad day and it seems like a bad day because its out of the ordinary. But if you get up and every day all day long you deal with assholes, by the 30th asshole of the day...it might be time to question if perhaps you're the asshole and everybody is just reciprocating. (This was ultimately how I came to the realization that I am an asshole quite frequently and also that I seem dour and pissed off 24/7/365, even when laughing.) I am not calling you an asshole BTW. It's about the blind-spot of self-perceptions....sometimes because of assumptions we take for granted, our perspective is perceptibly altered to such a degree that it is impossible to accurately perceive circumstances as they really are.
If you spend all day running headlong into criticism that your candidate is a bad person and a bad candidate that believes and does bad things and society seems to actively stack the deck against her or lean against her successes...maybe the perceptive issue is that they're right about your candidate in a manner that you need consider isn't really debatable as much as objectively factual.
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)I was talking about how you are not allowed to question Sanders here and how HRC supporters are treated.
Interesting post though.
Cheers.
Chan790
(20,176 posts)You perceive a difference in how Sanders and Clinton are considered on DU--you're questioning why HRC is allowed to be questioned to a greater extent than Sanders is and why her supporters are treated differently.
You can't really divorce the "why" from causative factors. None of those things occurs in a vacuum divorced from influencing factors of perception.

(3,660 posts)and this caveat applies to Clinton, Sanders, O'Malley, Webb, Chaffee and whoever else steps up. It also applies to official Green, Democratic Socialist, NUP, Communist Party of America and other fringe parties. Equally. No exceptions or distinctions.
I will vote for, donate to and support wherever possible the candidate most likely to beat Republicans from the left.
Since I live in reality in this age, that will be the Dem nominee. If that ever changes, and it did in Minnesota in 98 and Florida last year for examples so it can happen although very unlikely nationally, so will my vote and support.

(12,958 posts)...in this country, where a third or fourth party are viable. Until that happens, the answer is NO!
As I said to the same question about Bernie:
The game is rigged. It is arranged so that the number or viable parties is plural yet minimal. I.e one less than the number of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

(6,568 posts)Ingredients
4 large garlic cloves, pressed
4 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary or 2 teaspoons dried
1 1/2 teaspoons coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 2 1/2-pound boneless pork loin roast, well trimmed
Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional)
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line 13 x 9 x 2-inch roasting pan with foil. Mix first 4 ingredients in bowl. Rub garlic mixture all over pork. Place pork, fat side down, in prepared roasting pan. Roast pork 30 minutes. Turn roast fat side up. Roast until thermometer inserted into center of pork registers 155°F., about 25 minutes longer. Remove from oven; let stand 10 minutes.
Pour any juices from roasting pan into small saucepan; set over low heat to keep warm. Cut pork crosswise into 1/3-inch-thick slices. Arrange pork slices on platter. Pour pan juices over. Garnish with rosemary sprigs, if desired.

(6,568 posts)The Ultimate Straight-Up Regular Kosher Dill Pickle
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup kosher salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. black peppercorns
1 Tbsp. coriander seeds
6 dried chiles, such as chiles de arbol (optional)
1/4 cup white vinegar
3 lbs. (1012) medium Kirby cucumbers
8-10 garlic cloves, smashed
10 dill sprigs
Special equipment:
2 16-oz. Mason jars
Cheesecloth
Rubber bands
Test Kitchen Tip:
To sterilize your jarsand you mustfollow the instructions here.
PREPARATION
Combine 1/2 cup of water, salt, sugar, peppercorns, coriander and chiles over high heat in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Add 1 1/2 cups of water and vinegar, stir to combine; let cool completely.
Scrub cucumbers to remove any dirt. Remove any tails or pieces of stem and cut in half lengthwise. (If you prefer them whole, thats fine, just expect them to take an additional 3-4 days to fully ferment.) Divide cucumbers, garlic and dill sprigs among jars, making sure to pack the cucumbers tightly. Halve any remaining cucumbers crosswise to fill in the gap at the top.
Divide brine among jars, making sure to evenly distribute spices, leaving 1/4? gap at the top of the jar.
Cover jars with cheesecloth and secure it with a rubber band. (This allows good bacteria to enter and keeps out dust and other impurities.)
Store in a cool, dark place (a cupboard or kitchen cabinet works great), and try not to disturb. Check pickles after 2 days to see how they are coming along (how fast they ferment will depend on their size). At this stage, you should have what is called a half-sour. Let them sit for an additional 2 days for a full-sour.
Place lid firmly on jar and refrigerate, these do not need to be processed again for canning. Store and enjoy for up to 2 months.
Note: Acidic solutions can cause some garlic (especially younger garlic) to turn blue. We know, this is crazy. But the pickles are still totally safe to eat, we promise.
