Maher tells Bernie Sanders: Your campaign must be working ‘You’ve got Hillary talking like Elizabeth

Friday night Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) got the rock star treatment from Real Time host Bill Maher who praised the darkhorse candidate’s campaign for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, telling the fiercely liberal senator that his run from the left has forced consensus favorite Hillary Clinton to start “talking like Elizabeth Warren.”

I think Obama, and the internet, may have obliterated the usefulness of campaign rhetoric. We can replay it, see what really happens, and use lessons learned - deeds, not words.

And I believe us fringe Lefties have taken that "Don't be a purist!" thing to heart.

the reception Bernie gets wherever he goes reinforces the message. O'Malley helps, too.

Let's talk polls. http://www.democraticunderground.com/12777036

Isn't it entertaining how the same posters who insisted that taking populist positions make politicians unelectable don't seem the least bit worried that their candidate is speaking them?

And Hillary has been saying for years? I think in the future Warren will be saying more of what Hillary has already said, it is a part of Warren moving from the right to the left.

Maher went on to advise the candidate that “You could do well with younger voters. They liked Ron Paul. He was not a young-un, but he had that same authenticity thing going,” before jokingly asking Sanders “Are you on Tinder?”

Sander explained that his campaign has “A very active social media effort.”

“In the Senate, we have more people on our Facebook page, than any other member of the United States Senate,” he said, before adding, “Look, what we want to do is tap the idealism of the kids. And what the kids are saying, for example, is that this country should lead the world in transferring our energy system and dealing with climate change. And that solution we’re going to talk about a whole lot.

Which reminds me, this OP will be the daily Bernie link I put on my FB page - which goes out to people in 8 states and voting US expats in Mexico and Europe. FB posts are like wings of a butterfly, baby!

I was taking a canal tour in Berlin, when the guide pointed to a bridge over the Landwehr Canal, which we were approaching, and stated that it was this bridge from which Rosa Luxembourg's body was thrown after she had been murdered by the proto-NAZI freikorps. I was familiar with her history, and just felt a terrible chill down my spine to be in that place. And I felt even worse when I spent a day at Sachsenhausen concentration camp - about 30 miles outside of Berlin. The aura of evil still remains and after several hours was just overwhelming.
Anyway - peace to you and yours.

The Clintons are political beings. I do believe they are genuine Social Liberals. But, fiscally...it is going to take more than talk to convince me that they really get it.

i think hillary will stick to the issues too but she will be bobbing and weaving to avoid a real answer.

should be quite interesting.
