2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhy Trump represents all that is wrong in the U.S.
Trump brags about HIS net worth. He is so proud of it and believes that someone with a high net worth should be president. He shoves his net worth down your throat. He believes his enormous net worth is his qualification to be president.
Whether Donald Trump is worth nearly $9 billion dollars (his claim) or $4 billion (Forbes list), the real question is how is Trump worth anything? Trump has gone thru 4 rounds of corporate bankruptcy. Yet, he still winds up a multi-billionaire? How?
The answer is he never filed personal bankruptcy, which is what most "ordinary Americans" who file bankruptcy do. Bankruptcy is supposed to provide a fresh start. Yet, due to changes in the law over the last 20 or so years, bankruptcy is far less forgiving to "ordinary people." There is no fresh start for them. They are not able to wipe away their credit card debt, health care bills, student loans or mortgage payments - or stop the foreclosure of their home.
A great post from 2014 by Robert Reich highlights the unfairness in our bankruptcy system and how Trump gets richer and the ordinary person suffers. http://robertreich.org/post/98079430765
So who pays for Trump's poor business decisions if not him?
"Ordinary people" perhaps? A redistribution of wealth from the ordinary to the Trumps of the world?
And how is it that when Trump talks about his wealth, he uses the personal pronouns - my, me, I and when he incurs debt for his businesses who then go under and file bankruptcy, it is all them, it, they?

I hope he wastes billions to run. That may help the economy.
I can see him on the clown bus now yelling and screaming at all his competitors. And by the way, Bush, you're fired!!!!

Those of us with student loans can't declare bankruptcy, yet "The Donald's" company has been through numerous bankruptcies. If corporations are people like the US Supreme Court claimed then they should be subject to the same strenuous bankruptcy laws we are. It's hypocrisy at its finest.

(1 post)6. If you want to read about an Independent that has real ideas on how to fix government go here
http://www.vote4lynn2016.com/
Lynn S Kahn has a 7 track plan to fix government and build peace.
I thought the ideas expressed made a lot of sense in our world of broken politics.
I hope that Bernie or Hillary pickup some of those ideas and policies as I think it is going very hard to run as an independent.

this is all a stunt for recognition. He has 120 days to file. I'm guessing he won't file and make a mockery of our election system. This guy is totally unelectable.
