How well is Hillary Clinton doing as a candidate? Sure she has the Democratic nomination locked up, but how will she fare in the general election? Here is an index that may be useful in keeping score:

(68,644 posts)And how dare we continue to use the term "Democratic" for our party when it's clear that it's the Clintocratic Party?
I mean, she's got the nomination Locked Up, right?
WTF is Sanders and O'Malley doing out there? Those stupid fools.
Hillometer?

(6,283 posts).....hmmmm, it actually has a nice ring to it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Sanders, O'malley-"stupid fools". Glad you said it. Clinton supporters wouldn't stoop so low.

(68,644 posts)And it's kind of a sorry design. I would think they could get a better webdesigner.

(1,415 posts)Cool. I have to admit. Hillary will get 15 times as many votes as Bernie in the primaries, but he has a nice logo.

(20,234 posts)Luckily for us all the more people know about Bernie the better they like him.
The same is not true of some other candidates.

(1,415 posts)...resembles Obama in so many ways! There is no doubt he is going to capture the imagination of so many in his historic quest to become the first octogenerian to serve in the Oval Office!

(1,415 posts)Whoever wins will set the direction of the court for the next 30 years. I will vote for the Democrat most likely to win. That is obviously Hillary. Far lefties like Bernie and Elizabeth Warren would lose, much like any Tea Partier will lose.

(1,415 posts)I would never do that. Do you really think Bernie can win?

(14,195 posts)And it is on fire for Bernie. He is speaking to the concerns of so many people. He is seeing huge crowds on the road. He speaks authentically and with passion. I truly believe he is the best possible candidate and I believe he will win.

(1,415 posts)I wish you well...but that's 47 points. There's, um, no way.

(14,195 posts)Really matter, like the end of the summer. By then we will have a better sense. My take is most polls are not worth much this far out except to see trends. Hillary is on top but Bernies trending upward over past couple weeks. Let's see how they both stand the end of August, my bet is it will be a lot closer.

(1,415 posts)We'll see where we are by Labor Day. Look, I love Bernie and I am more aligned with him than Hillary. But the reality is, people playing toward the center are playing to win, whereas people on the extremes are playing for principle. (Or for exposure, gigs on cable, or ego.). I truly do not think that Bernie is in it to win it. He knows better than anyone that he is as far left as the Tea Party is on the far right, and those positions are not mainstream enough to win.

(2,101 posts)Clinton is running for POTUS.
She is not running for the democratic nomination. Please be patient with those running, or considering running for the nomination. Were it not for the entertainment value of their campaigns Clinton would be forced to waste her time pandering to registered Democrats instead of sitting quietly and listening to the Kaffee Klatch.

(2,101 posts)She and her staff aren't blind to the world, and must feel that they are working in the right direction. I see dangers in avoiding, make that downplaying the importance of the primaries. Whether it is a cooking contest, a wrestling match, or a car race one's focus cannot be solely on preparing for the final contest. If I have the best raisin apple pie in the world it does no good if somewhere along the road it loses. Then again, I'm not a politician...

(54,436 posts)The Democratic nomination for President is "locked up" when the nominee says, at the Convention next year, "I accept your nomination..." and not before then.
Anyone can stumble, anyone can fall, and no one is immune, not even people named Clinton, Sanders or O'Malley.
